After Bruno Groening’s death the whole world believed his work had come to an end. The public interest vanished, the media bustle abated. The name Bruno Groening fell into oblivion. Even many of his friends felt abandoned and turned their backs towards their communities. Only few of them believed in his promise that he would help them even beyond his death. And only those few witnessed the incomprehensible: The Heilstrom is still working. Aside from great world affairs they witnessed how the sick went on to get well and how incurable diseases disappeared. But the public didn’t perceive this anymore. The world wanted to forget Bruno Groening, ignore him completely. For many decades nobody heard anything about him. The people continued to live and suffer, as if he had never existed. But towards the end of the eighties the name Bruno Groening showed up again in the media. There was talk about a Circle of Friends, healing reports were presented. Some headlines read: "The miracle worker is in the news again."32 "Beyond one’s comprehension! Miracle doctor Bruno Groening is still healing today (32 years after his death) from the beyond!"33 "’Miracle healing’ the pure spiritual way - proved and confirmed by independent physicians."34 While there were mostly negative reports during his lifetime, the occurrences around him were now definitely more positively presented. Many journalists were now ready to acknowledge the truth. They followed up on healing reports, talk to the healed people, and truthfully told their experiences. By receiving the Heilstrom remarkable healings take place. Medical examinations attest: "In the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends the divine power is working on". Chapter 5:Purpose and Goal of the CommunitiesThe Bruno Groening Circle of Friends is divided into many single communities, spread across Germany and the neighboring countries. Here help seekers are shown how to receive the Heilstrom. Bruno Groening’s teachings are intensified and healed people report their recovery. The Beginning of the Communities Bruno Groening himself laid the foundation for the organization of the communities. As the ban to heal kept on haunting him and his plans for healing centers were forbidden, he searched for new ways to work in freedom. The initial lecturing activity in scattered places wasn’t enough to fulfill the needs of the numerous help seekers. The mass crowd of 1949 should not repeat itself. So Bruno Groening untiringly traveled the country and united help seekers in the communities. They also met regularly in his absence and were looked after by community leaders. He himself visited the various communities from time to time and held lectures. In this manner he intended to reach as many people as possible and at the same time he wanted to flee the conflict with the healing practitioner law. In the communities he only held lectures about trust and belief, which was allowed by paragraph 5 of the basic constitutional law (free expression of opinion). In order to ensure the covering of his lecture activity he founded the "Groening Association" in 1953 and its successor, the "Union for the support of soul-spiritual and natural living" in 1958. But both associations didn’t fulfill his hopes because they didn’t offer protection or security. After his death the last association endured but was soon split up by plot and scheme and competition. Further associations were founded. Everyone claimed the right to continue the work of Bruno Groening, but amongst themselves they were constantly quarrelling. And soon the same mistakes were made that once were the reason for Bruno Groening’s separation from the Groening Association. The fuss that was often made in such associations developed a life of its own and thus pushed the spiritual inheritance of the healer - healing power and teachings - to the background. In the year of 1979 Grete Häusler founded a Circle of Friends of her own. She had been a co-worker of Groening’s for many years, had received healing by him in 1950, and had then built up 23 Communities in Austria. For almost nine years she had the opportunity to get to know his true ideals. When they weren’t fulfilled anymore in the associations and the healings decreased, she began to build up the work of Bruno Groening again with a handful of friends. It was to be a Circle of Friends and not a union or association: it focused on the help seeker and his healing. With time a steadily growing circle arose from the meager dozen. When in the beginning the living rooms of friends were big enough for the community hours and even for nation-wide conventions, finally bigger rooms had to be rented. Soon they had to rent big halls for the conventions. More and more communities grew in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Circle of Friends even spread to non-German speaking countries. The number of friends counted over 700 in 1985 and increased to almost 10 thousand in the beginning of 1993. Even the public grew interested again by the end of the eighties. The interest had died after Bruno Groening’s death and the associations hardly did anything to revive it. Thirty years had to pass before the media took up the phenomenon of Bruno Groening again. The numerous healings and the increasing recognition by doctors and healers caused the press, radio and television to pay attention. Today the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends is a firm figure in the field of alternative healing methods. It can’t be ignored anymore. What is it that holds so many people together? Why do they come to the community hours? What exactly happens at such gatherings? Anita Höhne illustrates in her book "Spiritual Healers Today" how she witnessed a community hour of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends as an independent journalist: "Munich, in spring 1989. We’re sitting in a conference hall of a big Munich hotel. Everything is unobtrusive, middle class: the atmosphere is that of a culture club. About thirty guests are sitting at a long table. There’s a farming woman. A few chairs further down a man that looks like a bank official. Next there’s a neat young woman and at least two grandmothers. Not one fanatic looking face among them. Nothing about rapture - here is an atmosphere between contemplation and sobriety. Yet, something very unusual is happening in this middle class assembly, this conference of every-day faces that could arouse suspicion of superstition, of faith healing, and belief in miracles. On the wall is a picture of Bruno Groening. The people in ‘Münchner Hof’ meet in order to dwell on him. They meet because they’re convinced that his power can still heal today. Everyone can tell examples - unusual healings that they experienced with their own body. A dainty young girl reports in a soft voice: "I just had a feeling of being electrified". Another woman near her said something similar: "It felt as though a current went through my whole body from top to bottom". An elderly housewife speaks of suddenly arising warmth. A man complains about pain. With another woman, a nagging headache has stopped, leaving a feeling of relief behind. This all is told in a quiet, matter of fact way. But everyone feels energy from the cosmos in this moment - the Heilstrom of Bruno Groening. "Separate yourself from everything that burdens you and puts you down, free yourself completely and accept the positive in form of the heavenly healing power. I hope it completely fills you up…" Grete Häusler said to her listeners right at the beginning; she is chairperson of the Groening Community. In Munich they’re dozens; in the rest of Germany the followers are thousands by now. Almost every week a new community arises, a local group of Groening friends, who intend to meet on a regular basis. And this happens not only in Germany, but also abroad. Here they all are, listening to what Frau Häusler from Hennef, 66 years of age, has to say. The eyes of the people are closed, their hands opened. A gesture that shows: we are ready to accept. Frau Häusler had told them before not to cross their arms or their legs. This hinders the flow of cosmic power that leads to healing and takes illness away. I can see how a young man with closed eyes winces. And many others do also. There, a group of ordinary every day people is sitting; they hold a piece of aluminum in horseshoe form and let it circle around -" an amplifier", which once Bruno Groening had given to his friends. They have their hands in their laps, palms upward and opened: as though they wanted to catch water. Their eyes are closed. They sit on their chairs and suddenly wince like someone torn out of sleep. Their body trembles. A strange thing for an outsider: I leafed through old archive files from his famous days and read reports of witnesses who are not known anymore
today - and all use the same vocabulary as the Groening friends in spring 1989: they speak about a tickling, of warmth or cold and also of pain, in any
case of a healing power that flows through them. But before almost every healing, people have complaints. "Regelungen" is what Groening friends call
that today and that’s what they called it then. The illness yields with the pain: you feel it when it leaves. But does it really go away? The Importance of a Community Hour In the community hours the teachings of Bruno Groening are intensified and passed on. The people seeking help should learn to use the positive way of thought and learn to strengthen their belief in themselves. This way the people cannot only obtain their health but also keep it. The past has proven the importance of the knowledge of Bruno Groening’s teachings. Many help seekers recovered after only meeting Bruno Groening once – like in Herford or at the Traberhof – without knowing the spiritual background of a healing. They didn’t know how to take up the Heilstrom nor did they know about the pain of Regelungen. The power of thought, the right sitting position, the knowledge about good and evil: all this wasn’t known to them. If Regelungen occurred or doubts as to the lasting of the healing, they were left alone; sometimes even too weak to believe in health. Quite a few people fell back into their old sufferings. That’s why it was often said that the healings wouldn’t last. But everyone that knew the teachings of Bruno Groening and understood the spiritual laws recognized that it was only the natural consequence of lack of belief or knowledge about the context of spiritual coherency. For instance, if a person knows nothing about the power of thought and keeps his mind circling around illness, he will lose his health again because he attracts the negative, the disease, by his way of thinking. So it’s important for the person seeking help to get familiar with the teachings of Bruno Groening in the community hours. It’s also very important for him to increasingly take up the Heilstrom. Bruno Groening compared a human being with a battery. By thinking, speaking and acting, we continuously give away energy. And in order to stay energetic we have to recharge our battery. This can be done by daily doing Einstellen and by regularly attending the community hours. In a letter to a help seeker Bruno Groening wrote the following: "As long as you live, compare yourself with a battery and see to it that you’re charged so that you will always be able to have this energy available not only for yourself, so you can live and exist, but you can even – like a battery – give energy to others, such as family, when they show lack of energy." In the community hours many people come together with believing thoughts and open hearts. Here the Heilstrom can be received intensively. The more people do Einstellen, the stronger the power will be. Bruno Groening wanted to bring people together in harmony. Repeatedly he reminded them of the command of charity. "They should know that they belong together. They should love their neighbor as they love themselves. It is my wish, and my will for this to happen, for people to connect again so they can all receive the chance for help." Most people come to the community driven by the wish to get their health back. But with the Heilstrom not only health will be attained, but there will also come a more intensive feeling for life. The heart opens up, security, peace, and joy flow through and an unexpected love for life fills the soul. Because of these feelings, many of the healed people have the urge to pass on their newly found happiness. They want to help with the work of Bruno Groening, so other people will get the chance for healing and inner change. The work of Bruno Groening is an act of charity. Just as he never wanted money for healing, nobody else receives money for his or her help today. Every activity in the Circle of Friends is voluntary. Only out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. Bruno Groening always pointed out that God is love and it wants to work through the human being. But you can’t pay for true love nor have it paid; it’s a heavenly gift. If it prevails in human relationships, freedom on earth will be achieved. An important point in the teachings of Bruno Groening is the individual activity of each person. He shouldn’t just sit there expectantly, but be actively involved in his healing, bring about an inner change. He should put his wish and aim into the conscious fight against the evil and not accept evil - but only take in the positive for himself. That’s an ongoing fight. Satan will try anything to get us off our positive, heavenly path. Man must learn to build an inner barrier against everything evil confronting him in his daily life. Bruno Groening states the importance of a community hour as follows: "It’s not about just attending the community hour, but it really matters that you stay on the right path and that you’re always encouraged not to stray from it, because everything is for your own benefit." The community hour helps friends not to drown in the daily fights with negative thoughts and experiences. As long as we are empowered, we will find out where the traps of evil are lurking. We will open our souls to heaven and won’t allow evil to shut them down. "Through the soul, man has the clear heavenly connection, the possibility of receiving God’s message. If the human being, who in reality is spirit, lives with evil in his mind, his soul shuts down and he loses his connection to God completely. Then he’s an ungodly person!" The community hour is a great help for everyone. Here you can pick up the energy needed in order to always stay empowered, and you can also learn how to recognize the evil, how to protect yourself and how to keep your health. Bruno Groening states in simple words how this can be achieved: "What you take on, what you accept, you will own. If you only accept the good, push the evil aside, you would always have the good." When a person’s without energy, he’ll take on all negativity that reaches him during the day. Here he’s hurt, there disappointed, there he has
trouble, envy, jealousy or rage. There are so many opportunities to pick up evil; and this on a daily basis. With time more and more negativity will
accumulate. If he gets ill, he prefers to see it as a negative coincidence or doesn’t think about it at all. The sickness is not his responsibility,
but that of the doctor. He completely ignores the fact that he himself collected all the negativity; and the illness is only a visible expression of
it. It should be the aim of every person not to have anything in common with the evil. But until then a time of development is necessary. Man must learn the difference between good and evil, to recognize his own mistakes and to lead the fight against the evil. For this he needs strength. Only if he is full of strength can he hold on to the belief in the good and achieve victory over evil. Bruno Groening simply says: "He who is steady, who can hold on to true heavenly belief, will win!" Chapter 6:Structure of the Circle of FriendsWhen Grete Häusler called the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends into being in 1979, there were scarcely a dozen members. It was more like a big family. But the larger the Circle became, the more responsibilities arose. New communities required their own community leaders and treasurers. Success Report groups were established to record the help and healing that occurred. Circles of physicians arose. All kinds of tasks that at first seemed insignificant became more and more complex: the printing of the schooling letters, copying of the schooling cassettes, organization of conferences, technical support, the chorus, video work, as well as translations into foreign languages. Since then the undertaking has grown to such an extent that it requires a thorough structuring according to consistent principles. The fact that all helpers are volunteers and only work in their spare time makes a clear, transparent structure imperative. This is especially true since the Circle of Friends is financed exclusively through voluntary donations: no membership or entrance fees or the like are collected. Even the schooling material is given out to the friends without cost, according to the words of Bruno Groening: "I do not sell the divine power." Community-Leaders, Working Circles and Close Circles Just like the Circle of Friends as a whole, each individual community also has its responsible leader. He or she has the task of looking after the friends, introducing new help-seekers to the teachings of Bruno Groening, and giving them help and support. The community leader is responsible for everything that happens in his community. He doesn’t only make preparations for and leads the community hours, but also makes sure that the help and healing that occur are recorded, the cash accounting is done in an orderly manner, and public relations work is carried out. It is obvious that one person alone can’t handle all these activities. The community leader needs helpers. One person takes care of the recording of success reports, another handles the public relations work, and still another picks up friends that have no means of transportation and brings them to the community hours. All of these helpers are brought together in working circles and inner circles. They meet at regular intervals, discuss upcoming tasks and do einstellen together. The work should never be an end in itself; it should always be kept in mind that spirituality and the love of God are the foundation of the work. The most important thing is that the help-seekers are given help. Bruno Groening considered it very important that help and healing be recorded in writing. The only gratitude he requested from healed persons was the faithful rendering of the success report. The success reports are the building blocks of his work, testimony of God’s work, and a great support for the help-seekers. Today, too, success report work is considered very important. Most communities have their own success report groups in which the reports of the friends are processed. Precise questions are asked such as "How long did the ailment last?" "What were the complaints?" "What name did the doctor give to the illness?" "What medication was prescribed?" "What actually improved or got better through the contact with Bruno Groening?" "What can the individual do again after the healing that wasn’t possible beforehand (For example, climbing stairs, cycling, garden work, etc.)?" "Was there a follow-up examination?" and so forth. It often takes hours of concentrated work and several conversations with the healed person before the success report can be presented to the physicians’ circle. The first physicians’ group was called into being in 1986. Several physicians examined the healings using their medical expertise. They further questioned the healed persons as well as the physicians who had treated them and requested medical records and a follow-up examination. In this way it was possible to verify many success reports through medical findings and examinations. Since then a "Medical Science Group" has developed out of this physicians’ group, to which hundreds of physicians belong, healing practitioners and healers. Although not all of them participate actively, they are interested in and have a favorable attitude toward Bruno Groening’s method of healing. Some of them do einstellen for their patients or recommend that those they can’t help pay a visit to the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Since early 1992 physicians’ conferences have taken place which are concerned with the "Groening phenomenon". H.G., M.D., a member of a physicians’ circle, wrote in the first edition of the book, "Das Heil erfahren, das ist Wahrheit," [To Experience Salvation, that is Truth] which includes ten documented success reports: "Now that I have examined a large number of success reports, I am aware of their implications: it is more than coincidental that healings occur after contact with Groening’s teachings and introduction to the community as in the case, for example, of Mrs. Jakobs. A leg ulcer from which she had suffered for years closed up in a very short time. This rapid healing isn’t medically explainable and occurred because Bruno Groening friends did einstellen for her. Mrs. Jakobs hadn’t even been introduced to the teachings yet, but was connected to the circle of the Heilstrom through the friends and could thus be freed from the painful illness. (…) What is "healing" for Bruno Groening? For him, healing is purification. If a person opens himself up with a believing heart to the good force, the Heilstrom can flow in. Everything bad has to give way to it. A cleansing occurs on the physical and mental levels to the effect that organic and emotional illnesses are removed. Beyond that the person experiences a purification that puts him in a position to make a spiritual turnabout and turn toward God. That is the ‘great turn around’ of which Mr. Groening spoke. Thus for Groening healing is a process that goes far beyond liberation from illness and can have a fateful significance for the life of the person concerned, assuming he is willing to continue following the teachings in the future. What is "healing" in the medical sense? Healing has occurred when the condition of illness is no longer evident. If the condition of illness is absent, however, the cause of the illness in people can continue to exist. But evidence of the cause of the illness is dependent on the method of measurement and its sensitivity. I would like to clarify this with a three-part example: The cause of ulcus ventriculi (gastric ulcer):
The internists fight the battle for health on the organic level. Medication is used to fight the illness. The psychosomatic specialist acts on the emotional level. Here, autogenic training, for example, is prescribed. Mr. Groening fights the health battle on the purely spiritual level. The choice of means against the illness as effect of evil is good: the divine Heilstrom. As representatives of good and evil, health and illness take on a considerably more profound significance. (…) If medicine opens itself to the healing power of God it will be in a position to stride far beyond its present limitations. Therefore, our colleagues, in consideration of the numerous healing successes, should utilize the power of belief in their medical activities and stop closing themselves off from spiritual healing."36 Matthias Kamp demonstrates in the same book how physicians can bring their activity into harmony with the teachings of Bruno Groening: "In view of the army of sick people, I scarcely believe that the medical profession has to worry about being put out of work by Bruno Groening. Isn’t it heartening, then, when a physician has access to something through the teachings of Bruno Groening that can really help with any illness? The physician can faithfully request for his patients, do einstellen for them, that there will be no side effects from the medication prescribed by him. With difficult operations he can ask for help and guidance and can get answers to many questions through doing einstellen to this power. I have experienced in this way that a natural instinct, an inner feeling is awakened that helps you receive answers and clarity in regard to many questions. Bruno Groening doesn’t want to take anything away from the physicians, but actually wants to give them something. He wants to inform them about the relationships in the human body and the spiritual background of illnesses. (…) A physician that turns to Bruno Groening will be richly rewarded with a power and a knowledge of which he couldn’t imagine before. He won’t be unemployed (…). I hope and pray that all people, especially all of my colleagues who hear of these teachings, will have the impartiality to want to convince themselves about the truth of Groening’s teachings."37 During his lifetime Bruno Groening set up his own archives. They contain copies of his speeches, letters of petitions, success reports, newspaper articles, correspondence, and much more. Supervised by Grete Häusler, the archives are the core of the Circle of Friends as a whole, from which the friends’ "spiritual nourishment" is drawn: Bruno Groening’s lectures, sources of information on what happened back then, expert opinions, trial documents, character references from his friends, etc. Everything is there to elucidate the true nature and work of Bruno Groening and to contradict defamatory press reports and other slander. Knowledge in the Light of Salvation To make Bruno Groening’s teachings accessible to the friends, free "schooling letters" are sent out a four times a year. In them, friends report on experiences and knowledge that they have gathered in connection with the teachings of Bruno Groening. In his book "Erkenntnisse im Licht der Erlösung, " [Knowledge in the Light of Salvation] Thomas Busse has brought together quotations from individual reports in the schooling letters. He wants to show "that Bruno Groening’s thought has far-reaching implications and leads man to spiritual awakening". 38 Here are a few excerpts: "A true child of God always complies with the will of his Father, everywhere. And the more people there are that live in this way, the sooner paradise will arise on earth for the blessing of all creation." "Good, the divine, will prevail in the long run. There is a saying that says it well, ‘God’s mills grind slowly, but surely.’ Naturally it is a long battle, for the "Great turn around" is accompanied by a great adjustment of humanity and will tear it away from the power of bad habits, the rule of intellect and from self-conceit and all satanic qualities. Only in this way can salvation take place." "Good is not to be dogmatically recognized in an outward form, but is to be recognized in the spirit of love, unity and trust." "It is wrong to hold a lecture about spiritual realms if I don’t yet have access to these realms, if I have obtained all my (apparent) knowledge only through reading, but have not realized it in my life." "Let us remember this: to always pay attention to our thoughts and not to play with evil, that is, not to underestimate it, for it has might! Yet we should also remember that God is almighty!" "All love comes from our Heavenly Father. Without Him we would be unable to love. He is the source from which all love springs, and He is the sea to which all love returns. He alone is the giver of love; from Him it flows into our hearts." "Let us believe deep within our heart that the final victory of good over evil will come about on this earth regardless of the form in which Satan wants to rear himself up in all his cruelty." "Let us forget once and for all this judgmental way of thinking that has been so prevalent in our society today. Let us recognize the divine in everyone, learn to love it more and more and to respect everyone. In this way we can become completely one with God and mankind." "With every new day, every new hour we can do either good or evil. And that is where the destiny of man lies." "The teachings of Bruno Groening are a precious balm for the sick at heart, but for the hardened, the selfish it is a stone blocking the way that must be pushed aside. Yes, they wanted to push Bruno Groening aside and they seemed to have succeeded with the prohibition to heal, the trial, and his death. However, they didn’t expect the divine laws to be irrevocable, that they can’t be wiped out by getting rid of and incinerating the body. Oh no! And help and healing do occur. The light of salvation shines most brightly!" In addition to looking after and schooling of the friends, targeted public relations work is also necessary in order to reach people. For decades it was next to impossible to bring Bruno Groening into the media, but since early 1989 the ice has been broken. On the thirtieth anniversary of his death several newspapers and magazines took the opportunity to report on the "miracle doctor" and the friends today. An article by Peter W. Fischer was disseminated by the German Press Agency to over 40 newspapers in Germany and abroad. The "Deutsche Zeitung" in Sao Paulo thus wrote on January 28, 1989: "January 26, 1989 was the 30th anniversary of the death of Bruno Groening. The time of his great healings was 1949 to 1959 in Herford, Rosenheim and other places, where thousands of people, most of them incurable, became physically and mentally well. Bruno Groening, born on May 31, 1906 is not a miracle doctor or ordinary spiritual healer, he is more than that! Healing through his Heilstrom continues today, as he had promised: ‘Everyone becomes his own physician! There is much medically-verified proof and documentation of it from his contemporary, ever-growing Circle of Friends." Since that time publications have been seen continually in newspapers and magazines. Radio and television stations, too, are showing increasing interest. It is noteworthy that Bruno Groening said while still alive: "A person has to be under the ground for thirty years before he becomes famous!" Here are a few more examples of reporting today. The "Aktuelle" reported on April 27, 1991 in the tenth part of its series, "The chosen ones – healing with cosmic energy": "‘I have thrown away my crutches,’ says Elisabeth Winter, 66, beaming. ‘I don’t need them any more!’ People hearing her story can hardly believe it: for years the widow had suffered from a prolapsed disk. The physicians declared that an operation would be of no use. But Elisabeth Winter didn’t want to settle for that. Through friends she came to the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. That was in 1987. Then last year, on October 23, Elisabeth Winter’s miracle occurred. ‘On this evening while together with the group I was overcome by a feeling as though a summer wind was blowing through me. After that I stood up and put my crutches aside and ever since then I walk without them, ’remembers the retiree.’ (…) Many people who come to Grete Häusler and the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends experience healing. Grete Häusler regards herself as only the (…) caretaker of the teachings that Bruno Groening left behind after his death in 1959. ‘I met him myself and experienced healing through him personally, ’ relates Grete Häusler. And she admits that she went to him back then as a skeptic. Indeed, she had wanted to save a girlfriend from that ‘charlatan’. Today she is convinced of his healing power more than ever. She stands completely behind his guiding principle, ‘trust and believe; the divine power helps and heals’." The "NWZ" of Nordenham wrote on April 12, 1991: Other members of the Circle of Friends report that they have got rid of migraines from which they had been tortured for years, and that they have been healed from depression and severe back ailments. One man says that his pain disappears when he places a picture of Bruno on the painful area. (…) On this evening several members of the Circle of Friends have come together in the ‘Hotel zur Post’ to learn about the community and their master. Detlef Römer of Nordenham leads the meeting. He tells how he had come to the community as a doubter – an atheist – many years before. At that time he had a severe spinal illness, depression, and inhibitions. For two years he studied the teachings of Bruno Groening, examining every word. Then he ‘received healing in his own body’" The translation of writings about Bruno Groening into other languages was started years ago. At first this activity was restricted to English and French, but soon other languages were added. Friends knowing the other languages worked to translate books and schooling letters to make them available to people in countries where those languages are spoken. Ever since there have been communities in non-German-speaking countries – such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, Hungary and Poland – the translation work has continued to grow. The possibility of spiritual healing through Bruno Groening should benefit everyone. It is not restricted to any nation or religion. Only the wish to help the suffering underlies the activities of the Circle of Friends. Today translating is done into twelve languages. Shortly before he passed away Bruno Groening said he wanted to write a book. But he never managed it, and only title, outline, and a written paragraph are still preserved in the archives. In 1984 Greet Häusler began to write a book of the kind intended by Bruno Groening entitled "Here is the truth about Bruno Groening". She took over title and outline, providing in it a comprehensive description of Bruno Groening’s activity. When she wasn’t able to find a publisher, she had to found her own publishing company. Thus, Grete Häusler Publishers came into being with a single book. Today it has an extensive list of books, cassettes, videotapes and art cards. The goal of the publishing company is defined as follows: "Grete Häusler Publishers has taken on the task of bringing the teachings and person of Bruno Groening closer to the general public in order to give all interested people the opportunity to convince themselves of the great work of Bruno Groening."39 Grete Häusler wrote in the introduction to "Here is the truth about Bruno Groening": "Who was Bruno Groening? Was he a charlatan, a miracle doctor, a savior? These questions appeared for years in the press and even today everyone, whether knowledgeable or ignorant, thinks he can have his say about that "little Groening, " as he described himself, and then finally be able to form a judgment. Anyone who wants to know who Bruno Groening really was must himself seek to investigate his nature and work in the manner of the Bible: "By their deeds you will be able to recognize them"40 All employees of the publishing company work on a volunteer basis. No one receives money for his activity. Income is used to make new publications, editions and acquisitions possible. The establishment of the publishing company would otherwise not have been possible. Today it has already been represented several times at book fairs in Frankfurt and elsewhere. The publishing company and Circle of Friends are clearly separated. The publishing company is an important means for making the work of Bruno Groening known to the public and for spreading his teachings. Bruno Groening’s work is a work of charity. No one earns anything from it. All of the helpers are volunteers who work without salary in their spare time. They are drawn to the work only by their wish to help others. The work as a whole has the goal of showing the suffering, sick and infirm a way that leads away from pain and suffering and gives people their health back. The friends want to pass on their experiences to others rather than just keep them to themselves. Chapter 7:Is the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends a Sect?The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends is a non-denominational association that disseminates a doctrine of faith. Therefore the question arises as to whether it is a sect. Must the seeker of help renounce his previous faith and give up his religious connection if he wants to be admitted to the Circle of Friends? In the book, "Bruno Groening: Einführung in seine Lehre" [Introduction into the teachings of Bruno Groening] Rolf Zachau says in this regard: "First of all, we are not a sect! We do not want to be an alternative to already existing churches or religious groups. No one who comes to us has to renounce his faith. There are no initiation ceremonies or rituals of any kind. You don’t have to sign any admission statement and don’t have to pay a prescribed contribution. All of us hold normal jobs and fulfill any tasks we have on a volunteer basis in our spare time." 41 Bruno Groening’s work is not related to any religion or denomination. It requires no profession of faith from help-seekers. On the contrary, Bruno Groening advised his audiences to remain true to their faith and to attend church. It is irrelevant whether one is Jew, Moslem, Buddhist, or Hindu. The only important thing is that one carries God within him or is ready to accept Him. "All people, regardless of nation, race or religion are worth being helped." Bruno Groening admonished people to take their faith to heart and put it into practice. He was aware of the deplorable state of affairs in his time and knew that many people expressed their faith with their lips, but not with their hearts. Therefore he often said: "Don’t go to church (or synagogue, mosque, temple, etc) to rattle off your prayers! No! Put the prayers that you have said into practice!" He urged people to take their faith seriously. "Prove that you really are a person who believes in God! Go to the house of God (as is mentioned above) and pray devoutly there! Not as before, as some individuals, perhaps even many, have done – only gone there to see what this or that person is wearing and to talk about him, and many other dirty things that I have seen and heard with my own eyes and ears. You shouldn’t do that. When you go to church you should thank God devoutly for everything good that He has done for mankind." Because of his open manner Bruno was an unpleasant customer for some people, above all because he acted decisively against traditional ways of thinking. Thus he energetically contradicted the notion that sickness is a punishment from God. He emphasized emphatically that God doesn’t punish. He attributed everything bad that happens to a person in his life to cause and effect. "Everyone is the author of his own destiny, for man will harvest what he sows." The appearance of Bruno Groening four years after the end of World War II exposed the distress and misery of the people and rendered them visible to the whole world. The ravages of war weren’t to be remedied by the physicians and clergy. A. Kaul, PhD writes in his brochure, "The miracle of Herford" on the conditions there in June 1949: "The sick and diseased come by the thousands to the little Westphalia town that has the miracle doctor within its walls. They come in buses, trucks, cars, by train and on foot, in horse-drawn vehicles and ambulances (…) the human misery revealed here is shattering and boundless. In the surrounding gardens and yards the sick who have come here, some in reclining chairs and on stretchers, wait day and night for healing. (…) They throng together here from all parts of Germany, the hopeless and the troubled; the young and the elderly; women, girls and children; people from all classes and walks of life; Americans, Englishmen, Belgians, Swiss, Swedes, Hungarians, Poles, even Gypsies (…), the paralyzed, the blind, the deaf - a community of misery and distress. Poor people, whether they sit in a luxury car or struggle along on their crutches. The hopeless and the hoping, the exhausted and the desperate - for the hundreds, the thousands there is only one wish: to be healed!" 44 Kurt Trampler describes this army of the miserable in his book "The Great Turn-Around": "The suffering, the abandoned, and those beaten down by fate who had thronged together with a last hope of consolation and healing were all witnesses for the prosecution against an era of materialism. Their bitter misery provided irrefutable testimony of its deadly failure. Inflicted by the war with thousands of wounds and afflictions, driven out of their homeland, abandoned in their desperation and misery, they came to Groening. (…) The apocalyptic paintings of the great medieval masters seem to have become reality when one realizes the horror that has brought these people here. All the incurable sicknesses and wounds, the mental devastation and gloomy angst that they had timidly hidden within their homes from the curiosity of the indifferent became here relentlessly, unavoidably apparent. Women and children with pale, haggard faces in which were burned, tortured eyes that had even forgotten how to weep; the amputees and the paralyzed no longer capable of moving on their own; the people shaken by dreadful nervous convulsions and with foam on their distorted faces; others disoriented, that wept convulsively; thus thousands upon thousands, without end, came together in this way or were carried here in this way. Whatever vitality and creative drive, happiness and confidence they may have had before, it now lay crushed behind the barbed wire of the prison camps, buried under the ruins of their destroyed homes, and left behind in their lost homeland. During these days and weeks I have met no one who hasn’t been profoundly affected and shaken by this surfeit of suffering and misery, more terrible than anyone could ever have imagined. It was clear to anyone able to cast a glance at the innumerable letters of petition in which those unable to make the trip to Groening for financial or health reasons poured out their hearts, that the people waiting there shoulder to shoulder for so many days for their last hope were only representatives of an infinite mass of the sick, disabled and desperate, seen wherever war and politics, hate and mistrust influence the destiny of mankind. There were certainly also many among these people whose illnesses had come about during peacetime. But the majority of all the help-seekers were victims of science’s highly-developed means of mass destruction and the scarcely less tolerable emotional stress of our time."45 Bruno Groening always pointed out that every healing is a gift, the grace of God. Even if the laws of life are such that man can get well through the help of God, it is not obvious that he can return to God’s order, from which he had fallen away. "A healed person is a person blessed by God." The blessing of healing is a form of grace that God wants to grant to all people. It isn’t God’s will that man suffers. God wants people in distress to be helped. Everywhere where the work of God has been seen it has been the poor, the sick, and the burdened who were given His help first. When man is ready to turn around and live in the divine order he will experience the blessing of healing. "God’s will is firm; God wants man to be helped when he has recognized that evil degrades him. God helps him; God guides him; God also forgives." In conclusion, it remains to be said that the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends is not a sect. All employees work voluntarily and no one receives any money for his activity. No contributions or entrance fees are required. The Circle of Friends is not a religious community in the sense of a church. It is simply a matter of helping people in distress. That is just as important today as it was in 1949. Distress has not diminished. The hospitals are overflowing, more and more clinics are being built and physicians are overworked. New diseases keep appearing, the suicide rate is alarmingly high and a great depression has spread like a dark cloud over the people. They often experience life as a torment and are unhappy despite their material prosperity. At a time when there is one piece of bad news after the other it is important that people think better of what they are doing and begin to change their ideas and to turn toward God. The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends wants to make its contribution to this by spreading the teachings of Bruno Groening and making help and healing through Bruno Groening possible for the greatest possible number of people. It is about showing people how they can regain their health. "Should I lie to you, should I say that it is only up to a person such as me? No, Friends, it is up to you yourself to absorb the good! When can you absorb it? Not until you have separated yourself from evil and really have nothing more to do with evil. The absorption won’t come any sooner! It is not possible any sooner! Therefore open up your heart now and empty it all out! Get rid of all worry and distress!" Chapter 8:Success ReportsThe basis of Groening’s work is represented by the reports about occurred assistance and healings. Help seekers can draw courage and belief from them. Due to the work of the physicians’ group numerous success reports have been documented. Medical records and the results of follow-up examinations may be viewed. The healings are proven facts. In a success report volume, the physician Matthias Kamp from the Bruno Groening-Circle of Friends writes in 1989 about the work of the physicians’ group: "It was Bruno Groening’s wish during his lifetime that physicians might be interested in the healings which occurred through his work. But it was hard for the medical profession in the 1950s to accept the work of this man. The thoughts and the deeds of this man were too strange for these people who for years had considered the medicine of treatment and medication the true path towards salvation for their patients. Individuals among them even then realized the light and truth of the divine spirit behind the so-called ‘miraculous healings’ which happened in the presence of Bruno Groening. Yet they couldn’t see the great value of medical documentation […] In the years after his death [Bruno Groening called it ‘going home‘ instead of ‘dying’] Mrs. Häusler made every effort to take down the friends’ success reports and to file them. Since 1986 the reports were checked additionally from the medical point of view. A group of physicians was built up in which today [1989] several physicians from the Circle of Friends have taken over the task of clarifying the success reports which were taken down in the individual communities and correcting the medical terminology and to clear up inconsistencies in a common working team. Furthermore, care is taken to get supporting documents from the appropriate physicians with the request for a follow-up examination." Elsewhere, he writes about the newly-formed ‘Medical-Scientific Group of Specialists’ in 1992: "In this group physicians, non-medical healing practitioners, healers and others contribute with their specialist knowledge to make concrete and comprehensible the might of the divine powers to those people who still cling to a materially-oriented science, to offer them the courage and faith to seek for themselves healing the spiritual way thus following the path to salvation. Documents clearly describe the symptoms of the illness before the healing, and then recovery of health is plainly documented in the results of high-tech medicine, which become the basis of spiritual turn-around and renewal of man." 48 Healing becomes Sanctification In her book "Among Us There Is ONE Who Nobody Knows" Grete Häusler writes with regard to the healings: "Help and healings continue to occur. The Heilstrom is there. God sends it always and everywhere. It simply needs to be absorbed and then it can work. Anyone who has absorbed it through Bruno Groening, i.e. has got the connection with the ‘great power station’ can pass on the connection. Each healed person can pass on the healing. Thus we friends were able to pass on healing and help to many people. Thousands do einstellen daily to absorb the divine healing power, absorb it, and it is effective."49 In the book "Experiencing Healing, This Is Truth" she writes: "The battle against the evil is that simple: do not accept the evil, believe in the good, and ask for help. Bruno Groening says: ‘Ask God that He may help, on his own man is too weak!’ That I did. The evil left and had to cease its working because I no longer believe in the ‘incurable, ’ no longer believe in the illness, the sorrows and the misery. The inner struggle is solely that of the human being having to separate from it mentally. And so it can happen that God’s great help can become obvious and sanctification can penetrate the human being. It penetrates the whole person, the soul and the body. Healing becomes sanctification [Heilung wird zur Heiligung]. This is the new way which Bruno Groening has shown us in order to get us back the - formerly lost – good health. This is what he lived for, what he died for, and we are his heirs. Let us accept this heritage, then we can live a good life on earth!"50 The success reports mentioned below are meant to give a survey of Bruno Groening’s working nowadays. They don’t exclusively deal with documented reports, but each report is vouched for by the signature of the healed person and has already passed through the proof of the physicians’ group. Robert Busse, 22 years old, Community of Schwerin, had been suffering from difficulty with breathing since his childhood. Diagnosis: spastic bronchitis. At the beginning the shortness of breath happened only once a year, and after taking medication (antibiotics) it lasted for about two to three weeks. But in the course of the years the fits of shortness of breath occurred ever more frequently. "In the year before the introduction [into the teachings of B.G.] it was the case that the shortness of breath came at night during my sleep. Breathing was very hard then, I took a tablet of Aminophylline (100 mg). After about one hour I could go back to sleep." The complaints worsened steadily. Since October of 1989 he had to take even stronger medication (Theophyllin Retard). But neither a rise of his daily dose of four tablets (280 mg each), nor two 10-day-series of antibiotics resulted in a lasting improvement. Until his introduction he had to take: "Two doses of Allergospasmin spray four times a day, and for the night a capsule of Aerobin forte (400 mg Theophylline). Sometimes I was free of complaints when under moderate strain. I couldn’t resign myself to the thought of having to take these medications all my life, and time and again I tried to reduce the dosage. In the case that I missed the regular time to take them only one or one and a half hours later I felt - due to my heavy breathing - that it was again high time to take the medication." Thanks to an information stand at the beginning of June 1990 his attention was drawn to Bruno Groening and spontaneously he attended an information lecture. "On the night of the information lecture I immediately felt the Heilstrom. There was a tickling in my hands; there was a pulling in my back, and I sensed the contours of my lungs. After the lecture I took my usual medication. The next day - despite my taking the medication - I felt the shortness of breath and again I sensed my lungs. I wasn’t able to exert myself at all
and therefore I remained sitting most of the time. I thought to myself that those were the Regelungen. The Regelungen lasted for about one hour. In
the evening I again took my usual medication. As I was still afraid that a shortness of breath might occur during the night, one week had passed before I also stopped taking the medication for the night. Some time later during the night I had shortness of breath once again. I only thought that those again might be Regelungen, took the spray only once and went back to sleep. Since that time I have been completely free of any shortness of breath. Now I can run up the stairs again without a pause, several stories high (I live on the 4th floor) taking two or three steps with each stride without any shortness of breath. This would have been impossible during the time of the ailment, even under medication. I thank God that He gave me the gift of healing through Bruno Groening’s teachings." Several medical check-ups in the subsequent months showed that there was no more illness. The doctors couldn’t find anything more. Since 1976 Andreas Ermisch, 36 years old, Community of Lübeck, had been suffering from paralysis of the left foot. This had been caused due to a herniated disc in the lumbar vertebrae of the spine. In a medical comment Matthias Kamp writes: "In the case of a herniated disc we find a bulge of the tissue of an intervertebral disc into the spinal cord canal. The nerves that control the muscles run through the spinal cord canal. Due to the pressure of the bulged tissue of the herniated disc they are impaired. In case this pressure lasts for a longer time (for about a year) these nerves are destroyed, and the paralysis in the corresponding muscles which are nourished by these nerves remains permanently." Mr. Ermisch himself reports about his ailment: "The first herniated disc occurred in 1976, then two more herniated discs in the year 1977, another one in 1979, and the last in 1980. In all the years I was operated on after each herniation, but the paralysis could not be alleviated. I needed a crutch for walking outside the house, and since the operation of 1979 I had to wear a steel corset that reached from the hips up to just under the armpit, and it was to keep my spinal column upright." Due to the herniated discs Mr Ermisch had a severe back pain. He even had to forego swimming. After the right foot also became paralyzed in 1983, he was declared 100% disabled on September 8, and in 1985 he went into early retirement. The paralysis of the feet was in conjunction with a numbness of the exterior parts of the thighs. "Now both feet were paralyzed, and apart from a few spots they were completely numb. Bending my toes upwards was impossible, and I could not lift my feet by moving them in the ankles. Walking on my heels was impossible for me, walking on tiptoe was extremely difficult. Outside the house I could only move with the support of crutches, and the distance I could walk was restricted to some 200 meters. […] The doctors told me that I would have to live with the paralysis in my feet for the rest of my life. After five operations in various university hospitals and specialized hospitals, which brought me no healing, the doctors refused to agree to a further operation." On Christmas, 1983, Mr. Ermisch came to the Lübeck Community of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. As a marked rationalist he found it hard to take in faith. Bit by bit - impressed by other healings - the belief in his own healing began to grow within him. He needed a lot of patience. The Regelungen went on for years, but he didn’t give up his newly received faith. Finally, on May 12, 1990, the incredible happened: "At the end of the community-hour, during Einstellen, I suddenly realized that I was able to move my right foot. Since then the paralysis of the right foot has disappeared. I can move it as I like to. Of course, my wish then was the full healing, but though I was striving for it and did einstellen for it, it didn’t happen. So I simply gave it up and trusted and believed that everything would turn out well. And it happened: Ascension Day morning, twelve days after the healing of the right foot, I got out of bed with my left leg first. Now I can’t remember it exactly, but there was something in my way. I moved my left foot to the side and full of joy I realized that I was suddenly able to move my left foot! Since then I can move my two feet completely normally, I can walk on my heels and on my tiptoes. I don’t need crutches any more." Nor does he need the corset since August, 1990. A neurological check-up in November, 1990, verified that the paralysis has completely disappeared. The pain in his back and the numbness in the legs have also considerably improved. He can swim again free of pain. Since November, 1990, Mr. Ermisch has been employed again and can personally care for his family. Doctor’s comment: "As is the case in various other healings which can’t be explained medically, from my point of view as a doctor I can give no explanation, but solely notice the facts, and I can encourage all those who are still in need to convince themselves." Since 1972 Adolf Schmitz, 66 years old, Community of Roermond, Netherlands, had been suffering from pain in the back of his head and neck, after-effects of an accident, as it was confirmed by the doctor. The diagnosis was: cervical arthritis. "I got injections against the pain. As they didn’t help, I didn’t want them any more. I used ointments, which also brought no relief. And I also stopped taking the painkillers which I got because they didn’t help. Furthermore, I had massages for seven years, but without any noticeable success. I could hardly turn my head. If I wanted to look at somebody behind me I had to turn my whole body. Due to wear and tear I also had permanent pain in my knees. I had had this pain since 1976. I wasn’t able to stand for more than ten minutes. My doctor spoke of a gonarthritis on both sides." In December, 1990, Mr. Schmitz learnt about Bruno Groening at an information stand and was introduced into his teachings. "I had attended about five community-hours when I noticed in January, 1991, that I was able to move my head freely again. I need no more turn my whole body when someone calls me in the street. Moreover, the pain has completely disappeared. So did the pain in his knees, which disappeared after three weeks. One example: I was with the Bruno Groening Friends at the information stand in Weert and was able to stand there from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. without a problem." Shortly afterwards Mr. Schmitz went to his family doctor and had a follow-up examination. The doctor confirmed: "This is to certify that Mr. Schmitz had been suffering from chronic pain due to an osteochondrosis of the cervical vertebral bodies with degeneration of the discs C5-C6 and a severe lumbar spondylosis. Later the complaints worsened, he had also pain in his knees due to gonarthritis. In 1982, EMG of the cervical vertebral bodies, severe spondylarthrosis C5-C6 with discopathy and constriction of the foramen on both sides down to the thoracic vertebral body I. He had undergone therapies for a lot of years but without noticeable success. Today I must admit that he is free of complaints." In October, 1990, Eva-Maria Weidig reported about her daughter Susanne, 26 years old, who had been seriously handicapped due to brain damage. "In a medical certificate the neurology clinic described the handicap as follows: This early childhood central nervous malfunction of the brain resulted in a multiple handicap which appeared….in a considerable handicap….of all essential motor bodily functions." Diagnosis: infant cerebral palsy with a right sided tetraparesis What were the symptoms of the disease? She could only walk slowly, walked on tiptoe (talipes equinus), her feet turned inwards which often caused her to fall to the ground. She complained of a lack of energy in arms and legs, was only able to walk two or three kilometers at the most (one hour), then her legs gave way. She couldn’t lift her right arm above her head. With this arm she could neither wash her hair nor dry or comb it. Although she didn’t play tennis her right elbow was swollen and painful for years. The doctors called this phenomenon ‘tennis elbow’ (inflammatory irritation of the tendon sheaths due to overexertion of muscles in this case). Her hands were without strength, the fingers and wrists were abnormally stretched, her handshake was limp (she could stretch her hands so that her fingertips reached her forearm). Due to the brain damage she suffered from cramps (medical diagnosis: right sided spasticity), which was especially noticeable in her right hand." Often her hand clenched around things which she wanted to get hold of or hold on to. For this reason writing was a laborious act for her. During dictation at school she often had to leave out words, as she needed a certain time to slacken her hand. "Often she dislocated her right hip […]. There was severe pain and it was not before she made an unconsidered jerk that the hip could set again. Her right leg could be bent only a little in the hip (about 30-40 degrees), otherwise the pain would start anew. She could not lift it from the ground higher than 30 centimeters. Due to the paresis she had developed a humpback (medical diagnosis: marked postural deformity with a fixed juvenile kyphosis). Her gait was forward-leaning, she could turn her head only up to the shoulders, her chin then hit her shoulder.[…] On account of the brain damage her sense of balance was disturbed her whole life before the introduction (the doctors called it a ‘marked static and dynamic co-ordination disorder). A light push was already enough to make her fall to the ground. She always fell on her right side, which resulted in a meniscus injury in the right knee. This knee was mostly swollen which was connected with permanent pain. Furthermore, she suffered from marked foot deformities (according to a specialist in orthopedics: arthropathy of both ankles and forefeet in conjunction with splayfoot on both sides) and therefore she always had to wear especially wide shoes, normal shoes didn’t fit her. Of course the foot deformity was a hindrance and it made walking painful for her." Calculating was difficult for her. She suffered from nervous stomach complaints and had many fears, e.g. fear of darkness, thunderstorms, lifts, changes, being alone, going by train, and the fear of unknown people. At the beginning of November, after mother and daughter Weidig had learnt about Bruno Groening through the newspaper and had contacted the Circle of Friends, the change in Susanne’s body began. Her mother describes the events: "On Saturday, November 11, 1989, there started a stinging in the elbow joint of her right arm and it felt rather stiff, after that the tennis elbow which she had suffered from for 13 years completely disappeared, moreover she can move her right arm freely since that time and what had been impossible for years: she could lift it above her head. This Susanne noticed herself and told me. Furthermore, Susanne could use her hands more deftly. Her hands got back more and more strength, they grew stronger, she was no longer able to bend her fingers backwards as her wrist had become really taut and firm. Her handshake had always been limp - there was a lack of vigor to press the hand firmly - but it has become firm. […] She can fully use her hands again. […] The paresis of the arms and the spasticity of the right arm are simply gone! […] There are no more cramps. […] She has no more difficulty in writing.[…] Up to then everything had happened before the introduction, we had only done einstellen to receive the Heilstrom according to the instructions of Mrs. Bette. During the introduction on Monday, November 13, 1989, Susanne had a feeling of numbness in her face and strong pain in her legs and feet. Then she felt pain in her head. We could believe that this pain was the Regelungen which was leading towards healing." The next day Susanne was able to lift up both legs without restriction and she could walk normally. Since then her hip joint has never again dislocated. She can move it in any direction without pain. Furthermore, the humpback has vanished after some short Regelungen. She can turn her head again and move the chin past her shoulder. "Then Regelungen pains in the feet started again. She got through the pain and fully trusted and believed in Bruno Groening’s words and when they had gone one could see in her footprints in the snow the shape of a normal foot and not the uniform surface any more. Today her old shoes are too wide for her. She can even wear pointed cowboy boots, which had been too tight for her before. The imbalance is simply gone. One week before we read about Bruno Groening in the newspapers she wanted to walk on the balance beam in the playground. I had to support her and keep hold of her and her wish was: I want to do this on my own! Exactly three days after the introduction she walked on the balance beam alone for the first time. Since then the imbalance has disappeared. Almost all these healings occurred in the first 24 hours after the introduction." The paresis in the legs is gone, and Susanne can again walk 4-5 hours, even uphill. Calculating is easy for her now, and the other ailments have also disappeared. "On November 19 Susanne got the healing of the nervous stomach ailment during a community-hour. From the beginning up to the end of the community-hour she had a permanent burp. Since then she has never again had trouble with her stomach. […] The fears have made way for a self-assurance and joy which I usually didn’t know in her.[…] I can’t grasp what has happened with my child within this short time. According to the doctors she was severely handicapped and there was no hope of healing in the future because brain cells can’t regenerate. Over decades she was a handicapped person labeled by society on account of the visible disorder in her body. Within the shortest time she has become healthy with the help of the Heilstrom. The doctor I saw with her for a follow-up examination in November, 1990, couldn’t understand what had happened with my daughter. During the examination he couldn’t find any more disorder and he writes in his medical comment among others: ‘It is astonishing to state this immense change… the former tetraparesis cannot be diagnosed any more… I can only confirm that at the moment the patient… is healthy and doesn’t need any therapy…’ I thank Bruno Groening and Father God from the bottom of my heart for these great happenings." "I must re-enliven again what had long been lying dead. People don’t always feel it immediately that new life has entered. Often a person has to wait for a long time, but then it comes all of a sudden, if he hasn’t let himself be touched by the evil spirit of doubt and little faith in the meantime." Renate Opitz, 36 years old, Community of Wegberg, experienced the truth of these words of Bruno Groening’s. She reports how, due to taking the pill too long she generally missed her period. From the age of 16 she regularly took the pill. At the age of 22 she noticed that she missed her period. It had to be generated artificially by means of medication. Nobody could help her. "No doctor went to the trouble of finding out the causes. Since they were helpless themselves, they brushed the matter aside by stating that as she didn’t want to have a child it was quite convenient for her that way. One doctor, horrified after I told him which kind of pill I had taken over the years, said that it had been much too strong for me and was normally only prescribed to women who were overweight and had already given birth to several children. At that time I weighed less than 50 kilograms [110 lbs.]." The doctor who had treated her last had examined her hormone level monthly, but couldn’t find anything, and he was anxious that an operation might be necessary. In one of the many examinations he diagnosed with concern that the uterus was on the point of retracting. In 1982 a measurement of her temperature was taken over several months. Result: No ovulation could be observed. The doctor diagnosed a "primary sterility". In October, 1982, Renate Opitz attended a community-hour of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends for the first time. She took in faith that the Heilstrom would be able to remove the disorder in her body, thus helping her. "I then stopped taking the medication and knew that the missing periods were Regelungen. However, nothing happened for almost 5 years. Sometimes I had doubtful thoughts and it was not always easy to have faith. However, I then had a talk with a Bruno Groening friend who was able to reassure me with the strength to give everything up and believe and have faith that everything would return to the divine order. In this way I never gave up faith over the 5 years and occupied myself with the teachings of Bruno Groening and followed his words. I gave up everything and didn‘t think of the ailment, and "he who follows has success." On Whit-Monday, 1987 I was allowed to experience healing. For the first time I had light bleeding. It was like a miracle for me. I am healed. Since that day I have had regular monthly periods. The waiting paid off. We may never be impatient and give up believing." In 1988 she married, and in the beginning of 1989, through measuring her period regularly, it was determined that she ovulated. Shortly afterward she became pregnant. Today she is the mother of 2 children and very happy to have received such great help. In the year of 1949 a reporter of the "Süddeutsche Sonntagspost" wrote in the headline: "Herford, goal for thousands: My heart stops! Bruno Groening heals lame, blind and deaf people (…) At three o’clock in the morning: from the yard there’s a rumor that a lame person could suddenly stand up. I rush to the place. Adalbert Schneider from Derschlag, who had been lame for three years in both his legs, was able to stand up with the help of his young wife and he walked approximately 20 meters. ‘Already for an hour I felt this tickling in my legs’, he told. ‘The whole three and a half days that I’m now sitting here I concentrated on one thought only: Groening will help me. Now it really happened. I thank the Lord God!’ On this night and the following Saturday I noted, amongst others, the following healings, which all happened during the absence of Bruno Groening: Cäsar Zilinski from Lottinghof, whose left leg and right arm had been lame because of bad blood circulation, was healed completely within three minutes. Regina Schmidt, 14 years of age from Porz; crippled for eleven years, can suddenly move her stiff foot again. Albine Strauß from Minden, severe diabetic, suffering from nerve and heart disease, stayed in a sanatorium for years, incurable as confirmed by clinical examinations, is able to climb stairs again: ‘I feel completely well now.’ Willi Horstmann from Schlangen; completely blind in his left eye, can suddenly see light and dark again and shortly after ´regains his normal sight.’" What was declared to be a miracle at that time and was reported around the world, what caused hundreds of thousands to stand up and aroused endless more in their thoughts, is referred to by Bruno Groening as the most natural thing. "It is no miracle; man enters into the divine order when regaining connection with God." "My healings are based on a power arising from within the divine order of nature and not from breaking the laws of nature. One shouldn’t speak of them as miracles simply because they are difficult or impossible to explain through modern scientific means." Bruno Groening made the laws of nature, on which his healings were based, understandable for everybody with simple words. Everyone can use them for himself. Every individual reacts in his own way to the divine power of God. This explains why some people receive their healing within a few minutes or days – as for instance Susanne Weidig -, and others need a longer period of Regelungen – as for instance with Andreas Ermisch or Renate Opitz. In the following I would like to summarize some success reports in short form in order to emphasize the large number of occurred healings: Jutta Röder, 31 years of age, community of Sauerland, reported in February 1990 of the healing of insomnia that had lasted 15 years, depression that started in early youth, and irritation of the eyes against neon light that had lasted over a year. Anke Helsper, 25 years of age, community of Wegberg, reported in January 1990 about the healing of her acne that had lasted more than 1 ½ years. Peter Grommes, 27 years of age, community of Eupen, Belgium, reported in March, 1990 of a healing of warts and in June, 1988 a healing of severe problems in the groin that couldn’t be relieved with massages. Since nothing helped they intended to try a method that was generally used with 50 year olds. After he was introduced to the teachings of Bruno Groening and had absorbed the Heilstrom and the faith in Regelungen, the pain vanished in March, 1988. Wilfried Ruhland, 44 years of age, community of Sauerland, suffered from hay fever since he was four and has therefore been to the Baltic Sea for a cure seven times already, without any results. Due to the hay fever he also had bronchitis. Since he was 34 he suffered from cardiac arrhythmia. All three ailments, as well as irritableness and consumption of too much alcohol, were taken from him with the help of Bruno Groening. He has no problems any more and is a well-balanced person today. Frieda Stoiber, 60 years of age, community of Munich, reports in July 1990: "In 1980 the X-rays showed hip joint arthritis. After longer walks I had pain in my hip joints. Since 1987, I suffered pain day and night in both of my hip joints. I felt a penetrating pain when resting as well as with exertion. (…) Already in 1987 the doctor suggested a hip transplant." After she had read of Bruno Groening in a magazine and was introduced to his teachings in November, she experienced the healing while attending a Christmas festivity in Munich: "I was able to sit for five hours without pain! At first I didn’t even notice it, but when I sat in the subway, I realized that I was without pain. I let out a cry of joy and the people stared at me. Even when I walked to the subway I had no pain at all. I couldn’t believe it. Ever since then I’m completely free of pain, I can move freely and get up from a lying position without any pain at all. I’m really free now!" Richard Sachs-Jürgens, 84 years of age, community of Hanover, was hardly able to stretch the ring finger of his right hand for 9 months when he heard about Bruno Groening at an information stand in May, 1989. The doctor said that the bender and stretcher muscles hand grown together due to tendonitis. "So it was that in the end I couldn’t move a single part of my hand anymore. I could close it but not open it again. My ring finger remained totally stiff and stayed in that bent position. In the middle of my hand I felt bulbous swellings which, according to the doctor, would require an operation. But my dislike for surgeons and their knives always caused me to postpone it. Besides which, they couldn’t give me guarantee for success." At the Christmas party of the community in Hanover, Grete Häusler handed him a small picture of Bruno Groening and told him to put it on his hand, which he did. "And after two, three days I noticed that I was able to hold my cane again. But it was still painful. Then gradually it kept getting better until now, after there had been one more severe pain attack at Christmas – for cleansing – as I call it. Now I can open and close my hand again without pain. I thank a thousand times!" Reports of Healing in the Press Articles in the press elevate the significance of the reported healings occurring in the Circle of Friends. The following is a report from the "Golden Health" magazine in July, 1991: "What did the healed say? Karin Teipel (47) from Meschede: ‘I suffered from the Crohn’s Disease of the colon for 16 years. Over the course of three operations, more and more sections of my large intestine were removed. I lost my belief in God. Three years ago my girlfriend dragged me to a Groening community hour. Initially I was extremely skeptical, but nonetheless I experienced a very strange tingling throughout my whole body. The next day was the first time in sixteen years that I didn’t have diarrhea. Four months later, I was able to stop taking all medications. I have been healed and my doctors have confirmed it.’ For Karin Teipel and the individuals who have been healed through Bruno Groening, there is no doubt: Bruno Groening is still healing people from the other side. Ferdinand Duwe (43) from Lennestadt suffered from chronic inflammation of the stomach lining since the age of fifteen and was diagnosed with his first stomach ulcer at eighteen years old. Finally the doctors were planning on removing his stomach altogether. In 1988 a colleague brought him to a Bruno Groening community hour. He immediately felt the Heilstrom and has been healthy ever since. Jutta Schneider (27) from Lennestadt has had neurodermatitis for the last fourteen years. The skin on her arms and legs was especially affected by the itchy rashes. Nothing seemed to help this poor young woman. In October 1989 she read an article about Bruno Groening in a local newspaper. She visited a community hour and was healed within half a year." The "Neue Wochenshau" of Vienna reported on November 27, 1991: "The teachings of the miracle healer Bruno Groening continue on even after his death. By believing in his teachings the sick are being healed. The "Wochenschau" convinced itself of the great successes […] ‘For many months I had intense pain radiating down from the shoulder joints into the arms as well as up into the neck and thoracic spine, ’ describes Margit Hitzenthaler from Linz. ‘It was so bad that often I wasn’t even able to write. After writing one line, I often had to put the pencil down and wait until the worst of the pain subsided. However, through the absorption of the divine Heilstrom at community hours of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, the pain decreased from day to day. Most incredibly, the shoulder pain disappeared overnight!’ As unbelievable as Mrs. Hitzenthaler’s story sounds, it is by no means an isolated case. Peter Schlager from Feistenau also experienced relief from his pain through Bruno Groening’s healing power: ‘I suffered from such severe headaches over twelve years that it often wasn’t even possible to drive to work or to stand on my own two feet. I had already visited several doctors and healing practitioners, but none could determine the cause of the pain or bring me any relief. Also my wife had been suffering from a severe pollen allergy for many years when we heard about the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Soon after attending the first community hours the miraculous occurred: within a very short time my wife, as well as myself, were totally free from pain. My family and I to the Circle of Friends now for quite some time, and enjoy being here.’ It was touching what Mrs. Maria Aichinger (72) from Vienna, who had had an operation for breast cancer fourteen years ago, reported. Due to metastases she could barely stretch out and move her right hand. But when a friend informed her about the Circle of Friends and took her with her, her hopes were raised again. Already at the first community hour she was suddenly able to move her fingers! ‘It was unbelievable. Today I am by no means completely healed, but there is a noticeable improvement. I am now feeling much better, and the belief that I am being helped also gives me strength.’ We receive also more and more positive reports from Germany: Mrs. Christa Fortmann writes about the poor condition of her health. ‘Chronic digestive problems and hyperacidity throughout her entire body left me in a state of desperation. According to the physicians a higher risk of cancer could not be ruled out. Subsequently, I experienced how, in a short period of time, the Heilstrom nourished my soul and replenished the vital energy which had been lost; thus it is my opinion that illness is a loss of vital energy. The healing of my body proceeded slowly, but a strong belief in the almighty God has made it possible for me."’ Willi S., 43 years old, community of K., has suffered from back pain since early childhood. At the age of fifteen he was diagnosed with Juvenile Osteochondritis. The wear and tear kept increasing and even five courses of therapy were of no avail. "Over the years the pain increased steadily. It was most severe in the lumbar spine and radiated up to between the shoulder blades. It was constant and aggravated by the slightest movement. I had to walk hunched over as standing erect was not possible due to the intense pain. Two years ago I received a 30% disability." Due to a subluxation of the hip joint and damage to the lumbar spine, he had pain in the right leg which he treated with pain killers. He had rejected an operation on the recommendation of his general practitioner. Over the last year his thigh became completely numb. In addition, he also suffered from tennis elbow pain in his right arm. In April of 1989, in D., he was introduced to the teachings of Bruno Groening. "On the ride home I got such intense pain in my knee, that I wanted my wife to take over the driving. I had no feeling at all in my right foot and thus couldn’t react anymore. Since then, it is as if all my burdens have been lifted. My back pain is totally gone and the day after the introduction I was actually able to work in the garden – tilling the soil, push the loaded wheel barrel, and working in a stooped over position for hours on end. Since then, I have been free from pain and haven’t required either painkillers nor therapeutic baths or massages or any other medical treatments. It is also very noticeable that my posture has changed; I am able to stand straighter and as a result am about two centimeters taller. […] Since then the leg is completely in order. There is no more numbness in the thigh and also the leg is free from pain, with full range of motion. The tennis elbow completely vanished as well after the introduction. I did not experience any Regelung pain during this time either. Even my arm can be moved without pain. […] I am healthy and relieved. For this I give thanks to Bruno Groening." By Their Deeds They Will Be Recognized. This is a brief insight into the numerous healings attributed to Bruno Groening. Since 1988, the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends publishes a comprehensive yearly journal reporting on successful cases. "Das Heil erfahren, das ist Wahrheit, " ("To Experience Healing, That is the Truth") published in 1989, was the first compilation of medically documented healings made available to the public. Almost all of the books published by the Grete Häusler Publishers contain success reports. The healings are continuing everywhere. The powerful effect of the Heilstrom knows no boundaries. What began in 1949 as a miraculous healing event at the Herford Wilhelmplatz continues on today and will never end again. As long as a person asks
