Moved, Tearful and Joyful

The first performance of the Film "The Phenomenon of Bruno Groening" is thrilling. Documentary in Theaters starting in the fall

Berlin (jb). All is quiet in the great hall in Geseke where over 1,000 Friends of Bruno Groening have gathered for the yearly spring convention. Many were discreetly rubbing their eyes, wiping away tears. The people who saw, or rather "lived", the first private performance of the three parts of the new documentary film about Bruno Groening, his life and his teachings during this weekend in May (17-18) were deeply impressed. This film moved everyone most deeply and reconnected them all to the events of that time. 

It’s happening at last
The extensive research and the production of the 270-minute film that will be shown in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as of this fall took almost ten years. 

What awaits the movie goers?
The film pictures the events around Bruno Groening objectively and faithfully, allowing original documents and photo material, as well as contemporary witnesses (chosen from more than 80 interviews) to speak for themselves. Important stages of his life are presented in re-enactments. It leaves no doubt: this man wanted to help and did help, often where no other help was available any more. He fought for recognition and admission. But adversarial powers that saw a danger to their personal or private interests in Groening hindered him from doing so.

The Proof speaks for itself.
But the healings remain a fact. "Whoever sees this film without being moved must have a heart of stone" said one spectator. And indeed: many spectators are so moved that they grab their handkerchiefs, their tears are flowing, and they are outraged about the machinations and intrigues instigated against Bruno Groening. As they talk about it, many express their amazement about the extensive multilayered information about this uniquely special man, his life and work. Apart from the joy of having experienced it, they all leave deep in thought. In unsparing honesty this film reveals some facts, truths and insights to the moviegoer that will keep many spectators pondering for a long time to come.

HEALING POLYNEUROPATHY

Success Report of Heike Noack (38), Berlin

Since 1988, when I was 23 years old, I suffered more and more frequently from nausea, dizziness, vertigo and exhaustion. In spite of medication (Rökan), there was no lasting improvement. My condition worsened significantly in 1992. Cramping pain occurred sporadically in my arms and legs, especially after any effort. I suffered from increasing disorientation, mostly after getting up or in the dark, and sweat attacks. Sometimes everything went black before my eyes.

In time, I could no longer manage my household and often missed work as the pain and exhaustion were too great. I couldn’t even go shopping without help. This caused me to get depressed. But in spite of it all, I closed myself off to the illness and refused to accept it. Aside from my family, nobody really knew how I really was. Some inner feeling made me forbid them to speak with anyone about it.

Retired at 30
During a hospital stay in the spring of 1992, polyneuropathy was diagnosed. None of the therapies tried had any affect. Neither did a treatment by a healing practitioner, or a subsequent treatment in a rehabilitation center, so I finally applied for early retirement in 1993, which was granted me at 30 years of age (!). When I was introduced to the teachings of Bruno Groening in the fall of 1994, hope sprung up in me again, as I was out-therapied, but had never really accepted the illness.

The Turning point occurs
Within one year I was able to go shopping again and manage my household by myself. I regularly did Einstellen to receive the healing power and believed in my healing. During a holiday in Neuschwanstein, I could walk by foot for long stretches and my condition improved steadily. Since 1997 I am the happy mother of a healthy little daughter. I can meet all the requirements of every day, take care of my family by myself, including household and garden. 

Joy in physical Work 
Four years after my introduction into the teachings of Bruno Groening, I reversed my retirement and after taking one year of training I have been working professionally again since 2000. All symptoms of the illness have completely disappeared. 

During the fall of 2002 we had to dig a waste water ditch in our garden, ca. 1.50m (4 1/2 ft) deep by 0.60m (2 ft) wide. I helped vigorously and even enjoyed it. What I had intuitively sensed before joining the Circle of Friends, I found confirmed in the teachings of Bruno Groening: illness is not part of us humans!

Stuttgart Region (Part 5/2)

Stuttgart (thm/job). Württemberg and South Baden form the Stuttgart Region of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Around 2,500 Friends of different nationalities, religions and social origins have joined 51 communities. They are all connected through the help and numerous healings they experienced either for themselves or for others. More and more people are led to the Circle of Friends by their yearning to receive help and healing. They have usually searched for ways out of suffering which often lasted over decades.

Many healings that could not be explained by orthodox medicine were also documented by physicians and medical care givers of the MWF, the Medical Scientific Group in the area.  

How it all began
In 1979, the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends was founded. Shortly after that the Stuttgart community came into existence. In the beginning it attracted only a few Friends and was led by Grete Häusler, the leader of that Circle of Friends. Johannes Bernstein was there from the beginning. He actively participated in the development of the communities of the Stuttgart region and is now their responsible leader. This community remained the only one in the entire region for more than 9 years. Freiburg, in Baden-Württemberg, joined first in 1988. At that time one could not yet foresee the spectacular development of the Circle of Friends that would follow, especially during the nineties, since during the first years one could never know whether and how many Friends would visit the community hours held every three weeks. 

Growth during the Nineties
February, 1991. That contributed enormously to the growth of the Stuttgart community. Grete Häusler saw this as the right point in time to pass on the leadership of the community into Stuttgart hands. That was the last community that she led personally. That same year a local community of new friends who had met the Circle of Friends at a fair arose in Baden-Baden. In 1992, a new community was formed in Karlsruhe (today the Frankfurt region) that was later divided. During the years up to 2000 and beyond, one new foundation followed another. More and more blank spots disappeared on the map. From the many communities, some are mentioned here: Friedrichshafen and Radolfzell on Lake Constance, Ulm and Günzburg on the Danube, Tübingen and Heilbronn on the Neckar, Freudenstadt and Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest, Heidenheim and Balingen in the Schwäbisch Alb, Schwäbisch Hall and Crailsheim in Hohenlohe. Friends, who had had to drive quite a long way to attend community hours up to that time, rejoiced over the considerably shorter distances, especially in winter. 

The decisive growth impulses came through information stands as well as lectures given at esoteric fairs and expositions that were first organized in in 1992, an additional weekly community hour was started in Stuttgart for the entire greater region. It developed into a firm institution of up to 70 participants that can’t be "imagined away" any more. There have been two communities in Stuttgart since 1996, now there are four. Some independent local groups came into being on the outskirts of the city: Fellbach, Kornwestheim, Sindelfingen, and Plochingen

Communities with special goals also arose
In order to guarantee individual care of Friends, the institution of communities with special goals also proved effective in Stuttgart. In 1992, the children’s community began. Another was started in Schwäbisch Gmünd In 2002. The youth group meets in Stuttgart once a week for the community hour, folk dancing and singing. Friends from countries of the former Yugoslavia hold their hour in their own mother tongue. At the end of 2002 the community of "those most in need of help" began its work with drug addicts. 

Stuttgart gets a Physicians’ Community
The large physician’s information lecture held in Stuttgart on April 1. 2001 effected a further breakthrough for the region. About 800 interested people listened carefully to the presentations of the speakers. New communities arose to the north of Stuttgart and in Nürtingen. The physicians of that region have now also formed their own community whose most important task is checking and documenting success reports.

If you want to know why this impressive growth of the Circle of Friends happened, especially in Stuttgart and its surroundings, the publicity work ought to be mentioned as well as the spiritual foundation that Bruno Groening himself prepared. He lived in Plochingen with his second wife from 1955 up to his death in January 1959. From there he fought for his work of love for one’s neighbor against all obstacles, culminating in the healing ban and the court proceedings. His street address "in the Thorn Twister" spoke volumes. It was no coincidence that 3 communities existed in Stuttgart at the time. 

Stuttgart, the Convention Center 
Without exaggerating, (aside from Geseke in Westphalia), Stuttgart can be called the conference center of the Circle of Friends. Since November 1991 two regional conferences a year are organized here. The community leaders of the German speaking area and of the Netherlands hold their work conventions in the state capital. The youth community leaders also meet in Stuttgart for their conferences. The connection to Bruno Groening can also be seen here. He used to gather his community leaders in an inn near the Plochingen railroad station. And now Stuttgart is host to a regional convention of the MWF. The successful film "The Miracle Apostle", based on the novels by Hans Sterneder, was shot in Stuttgart by the Circle of Friends and first shown in here.

Numerous Activities
There are many activities for Friends during their free time. Hiking brings children and adults especially close to nature again. The hike organized by the youth on May 1, 2002 included a happy celebration in Rottenburg afterwards and even drew Friends from Munich and Cologne. A small singing community is slowly developing into a regular chorus. With increasing quality and ever more demanding repertoire, this chorus now sets the musical tone for conferences and Christmas celebrations. Every participant cherishes the memory of the musical program in the very special atmosphere of the St. Conrad Church in Plochingen in the framework of the large chorus weekends. Bruno Groening was married in that church in 1955. Four years later, his funeral also took place there in January 1959.

Our own printing press in Stuttgart prints forms and conference invitations. Several times a year, the voluntary helpers receive a big assignment for the production of schooling letters in foreign languages. Within a few days, several hundred copies are printed, laid out, bound and readied for mailing during countless hours of work. The press is housed in a book storage facility of the publishing house that supplies the book tables of the regional communities. 

Growth is a Challenge
The growing work keeps creating new challenges for the Circle of Friends. The wish to contribute often creates innovative ideas. A young friend from Stuttgart developed and programmed the Info-center in his own free time. This unique information and communication center can be used by all helpers via any internet connection. The management of more than 60,000 addresses globally is integrated for which a friend in Stuttgart also is responsible.

Growing also means growing together. The work started by Bruno Groening can only be developed further together. Events like the regional helpers’ conference in September, 2003, in Friedrichshafen serve this goal. The aim is to strengthen the connection with other regions and countries. A friend from Stuttgart is learning Chinese, a further contributing commitment to the steady growth of the work.
