"THIS HASN'T HAPPENED FOR MANY YEARS"

"The Phenomenon Bruno Groening" at the Bellaria Cinema

Vienna (map). "The Phenomenon Bruno Groening" has been running since October 12, 2003 at the Bellaria Cinema in downtown Vienna. Meanwhile the cinema staff has become used to having an unusual number of visitors flock to the old-established cinema every Sunday morning, even forming lines before the box-office. The theatre with its 194 seats has even been sold out a few times. Also Erich Hemmelmayer, the owner of the place, is surprised, "This hasn't happened for many years".

Even buses from abroad
In the lobby one feels instantly The Bellaria Cinema in Vienna drawn decades into the past. Large black and white portraits of Johannes Heesters, Marlene Dietrich and Willy Forst, all movie stars of past times, share the wall with a large poster with a picture of Bruno Groening. It reminds people all week long of the special showing every Sunday to which visitors from other parts of Austria as well as from The Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia come in chartered buses. At one showing in November more than 40 headphones were required for the simultaneous translation.

Mr. "Adi" too, is impressed
The Bellaria Cinema has already been the subject of a documentary because of its originality. Every day it shows old films from its own archives and therefore has a faithful regular audience, most of which is well over 60. "Mrs. Helga" and "Mr. Adi", the long-time "ushers" of the cinema, are happy that the documentary also attracts many young people. The helpers of the Circle of Friends have an especially good relationship with them, as is shown by the affectionate way they address them. The two of them have already noticed that most of the cinemagoers leave the cinema "filled with joy", and "Mr. Markus", the projectionist, compares the atmosphere in the theatre, immediately after the end of the film, to the "atmosphere in a church". They have noticed that people are often moved to tears and often remain in their seats for a long time with closed eyes.

The love stream was clearly felt
Many cinemagoers used the reply cards they were given together with their tickets, to write a few lines on how they had perceived the movie.

"I was very moved by this fate and angered by the way journalists, doctors and the courts treated this 'phenomenon', but its typical for this world", wrote Ilse L. from Ebensee after the showing - and Walter K. from Vienna was convinced "that after all it is God's love, that heals all wounds and which we all need so much - and I clearly felt this curative love stream while watching the film."

Miriam V., also from Vienna, was very moved too: "Oh, well, and at the end of the film I cried a lot over the stupidity and the ego of the people that caused this men's downfall - the woman next to me did too."

No end in sight, or "it keeps running and running and . . ."
"As far as I'm concerned the film can also run here for five years," says Mr. Hemmelmayer, who has already reduced the theatre rent twice without being asked.

HEALING SUDECK'S SYNDROME OF THE LEFT FOREARM AND HAND

SUCCESS REPORT OF VERA BERITIC (59), COMMUNITY SPLIT

When I broke my left shoulder on January 31, 1996 my life fundamentally changed. Related to this was a nerve paralysis (nervus radialis) of my left hand and forearm. Four weeks in a plaster cast followed. The hand was violet coloured and swollen. I had very severe pain. Because of an allergy I couldn't take any painkillers. After the cast was removed I received physiotherapy.

Four months later
Four months later the doctors revealed to me that I was suffering from Sudeck's syndrome of the left hand and forearm as a result of the accident. There followed a two and a half year therapy marathon from physiotherapy and pressure chamber to acupuncture, homeopathy and reiki.

Early retirement
The orthopaedists and physiotherapists finally stopped all therapy. I was sent to the Medical Service, which declared me an invalid in1998 and sent me into early retirement.

How did I come to the Circle of Friends?
Vera Beritic (59)
Especially when the weather changed, I had severe pain. My mobility was greatly reduced, so that I could no longer clench my fist, and there was stiffening of the joints and muscle atrophy. In addition, there was decalcification of the bone. I could only raise my arm as high as my chest. and no longer reach my back. It was impossible for me to carry heavy objects; in fact I couldn't even hold the cutlery. The most painful thing for me was that I couldn't hold my grandchildren in my arms. A friend made me aware of the teachings of Bruno Groening and in September 1999 I went to an introductory lecture.

The turning point in my life
During the introduction I had pain in my arm and in my whole body. At this time I began to sincerely believe in God again. Patiently and with trust I waited for my healing and accepted the pain as regulations. I started to help out in the Circle of Friends.

Autumn Congress in Zagreb 2001
In October 2001, at a congress in Zagreb, I experienced the healing after a tape with the original voice of Bruno Groening was played. I was spontaneously able to lift my arm again and the pain had simply disappeared. On November 8, 2001 I went to a specialist for the medical control check-up, which confirmed that I was completely well. Through absorption of the Healing Stream I was freed of this severe ailment.

Dr. I. Kevo-Andric, Split

Medical commentary:

As can be seen from the medical findings, the case of Vera Bentic was a Sudeck's dystrophy from June 1996 on. She had severe pain, but wasn't allowed to take any painkillers because of an allergy. This illness leads to a dystrophy (disintegration) of the entire tissue, circulation difficulties, and the skin becomes blue, dry, cold and swollen. The limbs atrophy (decrease in mass due to a decline in musculature), the joints become stiff, and the bones decalcify and tend to break. Around 70 different medications against this illness are listed in the medical encyclopaedia, yet it is virtually incurable and almost always leads to disability.

Thus, Vera Beritic, too, was released from therapy without success after two years and sent into early retirement.

For a full five years her left hand and forearm were almost completely stiff, with constant pain. As can be seen from the medical documentation she did not go to any therapy during the last three years. The spontaneous healing, the disappearance of the pain and complete recovery of the function, two years after opening up to the Healing Stream according to the teachings of Bruno Groening, cannot be explained medically.

From the control check-up by the medical specialist for physiotherapy can be clearly seen that Vera Bantic is completely healed. Her left hand and entire arm are completely well from a motoric point of view. The regular absorption of the Healing Stream led to the healing.

THEY FOUND A PEACE OF HOMELAND

The Community of former "street children" in São Paulo

Fortaleza (gnm). When I first became acquainted with the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends in September, 1999 through a physician's Information Lecture, I immediately thought that it could be an important help for the children and youth, but also for the workers in a project for Former "street children" in Brazil. street children that I had known of for a long time. In May 2003 finally the time had come:

After an introductory lecture, the workers of the "Barraca da Amizade" ("Friendship Hut") and some young people were interested in starting a Youth Community within a project for street children that had been existing for over 15 years. In this project, children and youth between 12 and 18 looking for an alternative to living on the street are taken up. In most cases these children have fled to the street from intolerable family situations, keeping themselves alive mainly by begging and stealing. There they also came into contact with drugs, which they used to deaden the feeling of hunger. Without being able to return home, without a shelter and without education and formation life held no prospects for them.

A first Step toward an orderly life
So they came to the Barraca da Country Leader Gerda Nickel Maia Amizade, where they live together, are looked after by social workers and psychologists, go to school and get to know the rules of an orderly life. The artistic work (circus, capoeira, painting) is important for this learning process. But it is a difficult path requiring a lot of strength, for the children as well as for the workers. Thus they showed great interest when they got to know Bruno Groening and his teachings and were soon able to experience the first help through absorption of the Healing Stream. One youth reported that he had already received a better mark in school, where he had previously performed poorely. Another experienced the healing effect of the divine force when he had a stomach ache and the pain disappeared in a short time after he had tuned in to the healing force. Many also wish for harmony and order in their families, to which they would very much like to return. Now they are learning to forgive, gain self-confidence and also tune in to ask for their close relatives.

Thus the teachings of Bruno Groening can also help these youth to overcome difficulties in all situations in life and to have a guide and helper at their side at all times.

To help others
They also want to help out in the Circle of Friends. Thus two young people who can already read and write and who are also learning to use a computer said they'd be ready to enter the hand-written Success Reports of other Bruno Groening Friends into the computer so that they can then be further processed.

Contacts with German youth
Important is also the exchange of experiences, by letter or E-mail, among youth in the Circle of Friends, even over continents. The letter below speaks for itself.

THE LAME WALK, THE BLIND SEE

Bruno Groening's activity in 1949 - "The miracle of Herford" (Part 1)

Cologne (the) In the spring of 1949 Bruno Groening - an unknown carpenter from Danzig - became world famous overnight. News of the "miracle doctor", as he was soon called, spread like wildfire. There was talk of incredible healings, an army of misery arose and for months hundreds and thousands of healing seekers trooped to wherever he was known to be.

The whole thing began in Herford, Westphalia. A. Kaul, Ph.D., witnessed the happenings at the time and recorded them in a brochure. Here an excerpt:

Mankind's deep misery touches me
"By thousands the ailing come and to the little Westphalian The army of the wretched. town which is known to hold in its walls the miracle doctor. Day and night masses of people - in coaches, lorries, cars, by train and on foot, in horse-drawn vehicles and on bicycles, on handcarts, in wheelchairs and in ambulances - come to Herford to the Wilhelmsplatz, towered over by a Protestant church, to house number seven, where Bruno Groening has found shelter with the parents of a child he has healed. The human misery seen here is shocking and boundless. In the surrounding gardens and grounds the sick sit, the deckchairs and stretchers stand, and for days and nights those who have arrived wait for healing.

In the night of June 17, 1949 the police wanted to provide lodging in barracks to around 50 mothers with small children, but they couldn't be persuaded - they wouldn't budge from their places, and even the rain that came didn't cause the people to leave. They flocked here from all parts of Germany - the hopeless und the suffering, the young and the aged, women, girls, children from all social positions and levels; Americans, English, Belgians, Swiss, Swedes, Hungarians, Polish, well even gypsies who came in droves after the successful healing of a dumb gypsy child. The lame, blind, deaf, a community of misery and distress. Poor people, whether they now sit in a luxury car or laboriously make their way on crutches. The hopeless and the hoping, the exhausted and the desperate, hundreds and thousands of people with only one and the same wish - to be healed! None of them asks whether what is happening here has an official or ministerial stamp of approval, whether the Scientists are for or against it, whether the person who is supposed to heal is a messiah or a scribe, they want to be healed from their human suffering; they want to be active, happy people again, they want to be well again.

Between this human misery and the dispute which has arisen over Bruno Groening there is a chasm of human incompetence. Come on the stage the doubters, the sceptics, Huge crowds the sensation-seekers, the competitors, the envious, the gossipers, the posers, the arrogant and the overbearing. All of them believe that they have to say something about it, to represent justice and the law, to protect public order and safety. But in view of that misery and the shocking language of that picture they should all remain quiet, see and turn away in silence. When a human being, who has lain paralysed for 20 years in a wheelchair, a living corpse, suddenly gets up and, with unsteady steps, walks, then something outrageous has happened that lies beyond the ordinary. For him and for us a miracle has happened that one cannot possibly grasp, even if one dissects it with much cleverness and insists that that is no exact scientific proof that Groening has healed real - no imagined - illnesses. Whether the 60-year-old Mrs. Klimphove from 123 Ostenfeld Street in Ennigerloh, who was paralysed for seven years, had an 'imagined' or a 'real' illness can be decided by the doctors who have unsuccessfully treated her until now. The fact, to which I bear testimony, that at around 2:00 p.m. on June 16, 1949 the old woman after full seven years raised herself from her chair without outside help and moved he arms freely, is for me one of those "miracles" that lie beyond the narrow findings of the human intellect, which we cannot reach by calculation or computation. (...)

A doctor brings his patients
Among the healing seekers waiting in the night of the17th to the 18th of June, 1949 at Nr. 7 Wilhelmsplatz are also English citizen who have heard of Groening's reputation. A German doctor appeared with three of his patients straight away: The case of a young man with tuberculosis of the lungs and bones with paralysis of the left leg; a boy with paralysis of both legs, and a young girl with nervous chronic headache.

Groening makes no diagnosis. The young man with tuberculosis he tells right away that he The lame walk. should pay special attention to the bone of his left leg. "What do you feel now?" "A hot current is running through my body." "And now?" "My left leg is tingling." "Now lift your leg up like I am doing!" Groening shows him by lifting his own bent leg up to his waist. The young man hesitates. "You can do it just as I can!" Without visible difficulty the sick boy lifts his leg, which was still stiff before, up to the desired level. Disbelievingly he alternatively looks at his leg and at his doctor. "Is that really possible, I can move my leg!" "You will become well, but it will be slow with you. Write to me!" And addressing the doctor: "Keep me up dated!"

The boy with paralysis in both legs is sitting with two crutches next to his mother: "Stand up, my boy!" The mother interrupts: "He cannot stand up, he is paralysed!" Groening turns the head around. "You shouldn't say that!", he says to her in an almost severe tone. "You are holding on to your child's illness!. Stand up, my boy, you can do it!" Red spots appear on the narrow face of the child, his mouth trembles and tears roll from his eyes. Shaken, the numerous people in the room watch as the boy lifts himself from the chair and now stands there, alone, without his crutches. "And now come to me!" With unsteady steps he goes up to Groening, who takes his hand and looks him in the eyes for a long moment. He lovingly strokes the head of the child and sends it back to its mother: "Go on practicing slowly, and don't overdo it, the legs are to weak still! On the way home use the crutches again, but soon you can throw them away!" The happy eyes of the child and a happy mother are the reward.

The young girl with the chronic headaches is healed even before Groening addresses her. No, she has no more pain any longer. "Do you want the pain back again?" "No, no, for God's sake, no" it comes from her lips.

And the doctor? He has watched these events without a word. He gives Groening his hand, saying: "Mr. Groening, I stand at your complete disposal, I would testify in your favour any time!" Groening: "I will give you three chairs for your patients! Take heavy and also simple cases, and keep me informed. In two weeks you'll hear more from me!"

The telephone rings incessantly. There is a call from the hospital in B. A patient urgently asks for Groening. "Tell her that I cannot get away now. I still have much to do until tomorrow morning, but I will help. Write down the time. Call again at nine o'clock tomorrow morning!" Again a call: "Yes, I promised to come. At five o'clock we will leave here. I am there and help!"
