A special kind of holiday

Children's and family weeks in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends

"Our two boys (six and eight years old) were appalled when we considered going somewhere else on vacation this year. But it turned out all right for all of us after all. All four of us felt more calm and relaxed than on any previous vacation, even our seaside holidays..." A large number of other families similar to the Winkler family from Simbach also turned up for this year's event (July 29 to August 5), so many, in fact, that the Bollmannsruh Educational Institution for Children and Youth was bursting at the seams. Every single allotted place in the Children's Week of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends was filled. Around 260 people ranging in age from three weeks to 82 years experienced an uplifting, powerful week. They were lodged in 42 bungalows on the Institute's ten hectares of land, and all of the week's activities had their starting point in the main building with its dining room and auditorium.

Whether small or large, the participants of the central Children’s Week on Lake Beetz near Berlin beam with joy, harmony and togetherness. In the background are Waldtraud and Rolf Lüger, who are responsible for all children’s activities.

Whether small or large, the participants of the central Children's Week on Lake Beetz near Berlin beam with joy, harmony and togetherness. In the background are Waldtraud and Rolf Lüger, who are responsible for all children's activities.

Beginning the day together

At 8:30 a.m. large and small met on the big meadow between the bank of Lake Beetz and the main building for a morning circle to greet the day with a song and inspirational words from Bruno Groening. Then everyone began the day by absorbing the Heilstrom* together and relating their experiences with the teachings of Bruno Groening in a community hour. All the children were involved, from the large group of school children to the kindergartners and even the group of small children under two years of age. A father taking part with his wife and small child for the first time said with surprise, "I would never have believed that Einstellen* to the Heilstrom* would be possible with such small children and that parents, too, would receive so much energy'. The program included group singing, playing music, folk-dancing, crafts and exercise appropriate to each age group. The weather was excellent, and during the long noon break Lake Beetz' inviting beach was available for bathing.

Christa Celina, a kindergarten teacher with 20 years of experience, along with her husband helped with the group of kindergarten children. The childless couple was there for the third time. When asked why they took their vacation at the children's week, she answered, "Before my healing from a neurotic depression that I had suffered from for 20 years, I had regarded my life as without direction. That is now over with, and it makes me happy to give children something through the teaching of Bruno Groening that provides them an inner security".

To experience family happiness

"For me personally the visit to the first children's week was like a big gift. We were supposed to bring a child we knew along in order to turn it over to its Godmother. But the child felt more comfortable with us and stayed with us the entire week. That was the fulfilment of a wish I had had since my youth - to experience a 'real family'. Since then we have taken a child with us every year whose parents couldn't come along". "A children's week offers many opportunities for experiencing things together with the children—going to the community hours, dancing, singing, doing crafts, etc., provide an intensive togetherness that aren't available in everyday life and that we can enjoy here." Many others also notice the difference from what they had known before.

Open to nature's wonders

Andrea Mast was there with her six children. A "substitute grandmother" turned up, and Andrea was able to lead the daily music group in a more relaxed manner. Here, too, many adults were involved to provide their support. In fact, the adults were at once participants and helpers. Thomas Kremer from Niederkassel was there again with his family of six. A master gardener, he enthusiastically led the nature walks in the surrounding area. "I am fascinated by the natural openness children have for the wonders of nature. I enjoy fostering their eye for the goodness and the divine in nature and alluding to spiritual laws." Waltraud Lüger, who attended this week in Bollmannsruh with her husband for the fifth time, says of her own experiences, "I notice how interested the children become in the community hours when the subject of nature comes up. They really perk up when people report on the healing of plants or animals. And you can sense their happiness when they can get help for their pets by doing einstellen to the Heilstrom*

Children appreciate the spiritual

An outsider might now ask, "But aren't community hours, with so much talk and emphasis on the teaching, too demanding for children?" But the question becomes superfluous when you hear what the children say. Isabeau H., 10, says, "The calm in the community hours and the energy I felt weren't boring at all. I feel re-charged afterwards". Svenja K., 10, says, "I'm happy to be here. I find it good to be able to do einstellen for others and be able to see things go well". Hannes W., 8, says, "Through what Bruno Groening says I know that my life has meaning and a goal". A mother expresses her feelings thusly: "It is a good feeling to be able to give the children spiritual knowledge along with other families - something they don't learn in school, but will need all the more during their lifetime. Waltraud Lüger expresses it thusly, "It really touches me the way the children affirm what is good and how some of them come here burdened with all kinds of problems from their environment and then within a short time are able to let all the troubles go and become happy. Because of their simplicity, the teaching of Bruno Groening is especially easy for children to understood and apply. They take his words very seriously. Therefore my husband and I feel a responsibility to pass on to the children the goodness we ourselves have experienced. We are glad that more and more parents are becoming aware of what they can give their children for their future through the teaching of Bruno Groening and the possibility of absorbing the Heilstrom*". A children's week similar to that in Berlin was held this year for the second time in Pöllau (Steiermark), Austria, and for the first time on Lake Walchen in Urfeld, Bavaria. Since 2003, family weeks for adults, children and youth have also been held in Davos, Switzerland. (ked)

Journeys and conferences in the first half of 2006

Worldwide expansion of the Circle of Friends

New, efficient ways of communication and more rapid means of transportation have caused previously insurmountable distances to shrink to neighbourhood size. But today, at a time when technology could make life so easy and pleasant, a paralysing problem has arisen that often causes us to ask how we can carry on. Medicine, too, has also been changed considerably by technology. But the hoped-for success has not come about and public health has not improved. Through his teaching, Bruno Groening brought a whole new way to help and healing to today's world that, as he said, "had only been forgotten". "To experience wellness, that is truth" is how he formulated it, and many are astonished to see the proof provided by countless, unusual healing successes that people can regain their precious health in this way. Technology - used here in a good way - makes it possible today to fulfil the goal set by Bruno Groening over 50 years ago: "Healing will take place all over the world". Thus, this year, too, the world-wide expansion of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends will be continued. Grete Häusler, Director of the Circle of Friends, spares no effort to regularly lend a hand in this endeavour.

The expansion began with a healing

At the beginning of the year there were two work conferences, and then Mexico was on the agenda. There had already been communities there, but they hadn't taken hold. Finally Marisa Köhler, originally from Spain but living in Germany, took over the coordination, but at first got no support. in the country. So in July, 2004, she inwardly asked Bruno Groening for help and just two days later the telephone rang at 2:30 in the morning. It was Claudia Merino Gloria, later to become the country leader. She had found a tip on the Internet and - without thinking of the time difference between the two countries - asked for help for her sister, who was suspected of having leukaemia. In spite of the late hour, Marisa Köhler took the time to explain to her the essential points of the teaching of Bruno Groening relevant for helping her sister. When in December of 2004 the medical findings confirmed that Claudia's sister was completely well, she had already begun, with the help of others, to actively support the expansion of the communities in her homeland. The new communities have achieved astonishing things within a short time. Through ongoing information lectures held by a Mexican doctor, new communities are continually arising. At the conference the Mexican friends testified cordially and with gratitude to their eager readiness to learn everything necessary for further expansion.

India and Africa

The very next weekend there was a conference in Gandhinagar, India, about 275 miles north of Mumbai. Here again the Indian people showed their astonishing ability to understand the spiritual. In connection with the conference several meetings immediately took place with high-ranking officials of the Gujarat State Government. The politicians showed great interest in the teaching of Bruno Groening. A film team was also present in India. A sequel to the first documentary film on Bruno Groening's life and work will now document the further developments from 1959 until the anniversary of his 100th birthday. A conference for the friends in Central Africa was held the following weekend in Koforidua, Ghana.

They came from the Congo, Cameroon and Togo. For many it was a chance to cordially meet once again, and the good atmosphere of the conference was enhanced by the success reports. Among the participants was Dr. Ganyonga in the garb of a king of a Cameroon province. He founded communities in his land and has now assumed the overall directorship.

Southeast Asia

There followed in the beginning of March a two-week trip through Southeast Asia and Australia, with conferences in six countries. On the program were flights in the narrow seats of the tourist class, often overnight, along with the time - and climate changes and days without rest - even for Grete Häusler, who had her 84th birthday in the same month.

The path to healing is unlimited

There are conferences practically every weekend, and the following countries are on the agenda: the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, the USA, Peru, the Dutch Antilles, Spain, Denmark, Kazakhstan, France, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia, Rumania, the Ukraine, Poland, Greece, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

Expansion work is going on everywhere. It is always a matter of giving the friends sufficient knowledge of the teaching of Bruno Groening to enable them to begin to apply it themselves, so that - to paraphrase Bruno Groening - it is the people themselves who move themselves toward wellness.

The success is already visible when the friends are welcomed. Joyful, beaming faces, along with loving words of gratitude to Grete Häusler for having come, testify that much good has come about here.

The friends are happy and grateful for the great help that has come into their lives, and they take on the wish to help their countrymen as well. In this way they begin to support the Circle of Friends' expansion work in their country.

High points

This year's schooling week for friends with leadership positions the world over began on May 27. Around 70 friends from 35 countries came to Germany for the event.

The week concluded with its high point, the Bruno Groening's hundredth birthday celebration in Geseke. 2200 friends attended, more than ever before and more than the large auditorium was able to accommodate. In order to enable all the birthday guests to participate, the happenings were transmitted from the auditorium to a large gymnasium nearby. For friends the world over there was a broadcast over the Internet. In this way they, too, were able to participate in the celebration and pass on to Bruno Groening their heartfelt gratitude and congratulations.

This event proved to be a big milestone in the tireless efforts to expand the Circle of Friends and make these valuable teachings available to everyone. (maf)

Healings from the Netherlands

Healing migraine of the eyes

Success Report of Mario Breuer, 40, Kerkrade Community

In 1975 I suddenly had severe visual disturbances. Within a few minutes I lost almost all my vision. This condition lasted about half an hour. After that, the attacks recurred about every six months. Later I also got headaches that were sometimes very severe, and I would frequently have to throw up. The headaches and vomiting always occurred immediately after the visual disturbances had stopped. Then the pain would continue all day long. Over the years I gradually started to fear that I would lose my eyesight completely. In general, I was able to control my fear and avoided reading very long because I wanted to take the strain off my eyes. Finally the ophthalmologist diagnosed "migraine of the eyes". He said nothing could be done and I would have to live with it. He, too, suffered from the disease.

Healed by the Heilstrom*

It was in October, 1997 that I learned of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. I was able to immediately accept this knowledge and since then have regularly absorbed the Heilstrom*. I was amazed by its effect. After my introduction to the teachings of Bruno Groening the attacks that had continued for more than two decades occurred only in a weakened form. The loss of vision then lasted only a few minutes. The headaches and nausea stopped. Since October, 1998 I have been well. The decades-long fear and the attacks are a thing of the past. Since I have been in the Circle of Friends I also feel the need to read. Today I read one book after the other.

Medical commentary

Mario Breuer suffered from a severe form of the so-called "migraine of the eyes". After a course of 23 years of continuously severe symptoms with no large pauses, one would expect the ailment to continue for life. The spontaneous improvement after absorption of the Heilstrom* is for me, from a medical standpoint, inexplicable. The time connection with the absorption of the Heilstrom* is obvious.

Healing chronic pain after a bad accident

Success Report of Thieu van Deuren, 63, Weert Community

At the age of 23 (in 1965) I had an auto accident. My left thigh was shattered. Because of my generally bad health they could only operate a month after the accident; my father had prevented an amputation. In the middle of my left thigh about ten centimetres of bone was really crushed. The surgeon inserted a steel bar from the knee to the hip. Afterward I had terrible pain. They told me I had to learn to live with that.

Pain every day for years

Two months after my hospital stay of almost a year I was almost dying of pain, so an opiate was prescribed form me. It helped, but had unpleasant side-effects. I was in a stupor and slept most of the time. Since I didn't want to become dependent on the opiate I turned to alcohol and tobacco to deaden the pain. But when that almost ended my marriage, I gave up alcohol. So I clenched my teeth and suffered through every day. It was horrible; there was not a minute without pain. I was persecuted day and night by the continual pain that radiated from the hip to my toes. Over the many years I visited several hypnotists, but the most they achieved was ten pain-free minutes. I was only able to walk a little around the house. I didn't cycle at all any more because afterward I would have even more pain for about two days. I was often unable to go to sleep in bed because I couldn't find the right position. I could never get a full night's sleep. I would always be awakened a few times every night by the pain and have to seek a new position.

Pain-free through the teachings of Bruno Groening

I learned of Bruno Groening from a friend and was introduced to his teaching on February 2, 1999. During the first community hour I separated myself inwardly from all the suffering. At the time I felt nothing, but when I returned home I was able to walk up and down the stairs - not easily or without pain, but significantly better and more easily. Since then I have done einstellen to the Heilstrom* twice a day for half an hour and have regularly attended the community hours. During the third or fourth visit I felt the stream for the first time. I felt a tingling in my hands and feet. The pain in my leg has slowly gone away. Since September, 1999 I have been able to do everything again and have been completely pain-free. Now I can walk for hours with my dog. Cycling, too, is possible again, and I sleep the whole night through without interruption. I can't find the words to express how grateful I am to be liberated from the long years of pain.

Medical commentary

Mr. van Deuren had a traffic accident in which his left thigh was shattered. But after operative care severe pain remained. He was under medical treatment for years. Finally he was officially declared "severely handicapped".

Chronic pain syndromes that last for years, whatever the cause, are very difficult to influence. Therefore the regression of the pain syndrome after the introduction to the teaching of Bruno Groening is all the more astonishing. After a course of decades this would no longer have been expected from a medical point of view.

Healing from a herniated disk and depression

Success Report by Paul Fischer, 46, Groningen Community

In June, 1993, I got severe pain in my lower back when bending over during a tennis tournament. While I had often had pain in the previous few years, it had always gone away again. But this time It had got worse, until it had encompassed my entire right leg. An x-ray examination revealed a herniated disk (L5-S1). Treatment by neurologists, healing practitioners and chiropractors was without lasting effect. Finally my doctor advised me to have an operation. The pain was like a heavy burden on my soul. I had been tortured for many years by depressive conditions, with sadness, desperation and an inner distress that is hard to describe. My mother was severely depressive, and as long as I can remember I had lived with the feeling that my life was worthless. I would imagine myself standing on the side of the road thinking, "If the car doesn't stop when I cross the street, then I won't have any more problems with all of that." The emotional distress was a big strain on my marriage - we were about to get a divorce. It was in this difficult time - in November, 1993 - that I learned of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. During the introduction there I experienced something I will never forget. I felt a stream - a tingling in my body - and when I left the room all my pain had disappeared. A mere four days later I started to play tennis again. The depressive condition, too, had left. I have found peace and serenity once again. Thus, my marriage and family have been preserved.

Medical commentary

Mr. Fischer suffered in1993 what was diagnosed in the hospital as a herniated disk in the L5/S1 region with typical symptoms and signs - pain in the lower back and sciatica in the right leg with neurological deficiencies. When traditional and alternative methods of treatment failed, an operation was indicated (chemonucleolysis). There was persistent pain for months. The spontaneous healing during the introduction to the teaching Bruno Groening is inexplicable from a medical point of view and can be attributed to the effect of the Heilstrom*. As a result of Mr. Fischer's emotional instability, he developed depression and thoughts of suicide. Here, too, there is an obvious connection between the absorption of the Heilstrom* in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends and the dissolution of all his burdensome living conditions.

"I only want to help and heal"

The life of Bruno Groening for children, youth and adults

Excerpts from the book of the same name by Thomas Eich, Part 3

After conclusion of the Heidelberg tests, Bruno Groening turned toward southern Germany. He wanted to get away from all the fuss that was being made over him. The owner of a stud farm near Rosenheim invited him to his "Traberhof".

The "Traberhof"

The newspapers reported that Groening had arrived in Bavaria. He was at the "Traberhof" in Rosenheim, they said. Immediately the seekers of healing flocked together. A huge rush of people was set into motion. On some days well over 30,000 people waited at the "Traberhof" for Bruno Groening - they wanted to see him, be healed by him. The newspapers reported, and radio and newsreels sent their correspondents. Even a feature film was shot. There were dramatic scenes, and unbelievable things happened. One of the many newspapers reporting from the "Traberhof" was the "Zeitungsblitz". In September, 1949, it wrote, "Meanwhile, more than 10,000 people had assembled, all of whom had waited for hours in the scorching heat for the great moment. Then Groening stepped out onto the balcony, spoke to the crowd and radiated out his healing energy. The people stood closely pressed together in order to fully partake of his 'healing rays'. The reactions of the most severely ill in their wheelchairs and chairs or those standing alone on the periphery had already begun to take place. The half-blind began to see again, the lame got up again and the paralysed moved their stiff limbs. Hundreds told of increased pain in the diseased places, of a pulling, a piercing and a tingling, of a feeling of indescribable 'lightness' or of headaches that had suddenly disappeared."

The army of the wretched

A journalist who had spent many days at the "Traberhof" described the scene before him from the balcony: "When I let my gaze wander over the crowd, it is if I am seeing an accurate mirror image of all the hospitals in Germany and all the medical dictionaries spread out before me, in which all the types and stages of disease are represented. The blind, lame, and deaf; the partially and fully paralysed; amputees; people with TB and cancer; epileptics; infants and children; young women and others already nearing the end of life; trembling old men and withered little old women". Another journalist described the "army of the wretched" pushing themselves toward Bruno Groening thusly: "Everything in the way of incurable diseases and wounds, emotional devastation and a sheer fear of life that had timidly hidden itself from indifferent curiosity in the houses became relentlessly, unavoidably visible here: women and children with pale, haggard faces in which tortured eyes were burning and who had forgotten how to cry; amputees and the paralysed no longer able to move by themselves; people shaking with terrible nerve cramps, foam on their contorted faces; others sobbing uncontrollably - so they came together, so they were carried there. Thousands and thousands, without end. Whatever energy and drive they had possessed had been trampled on and left behind on the barbed wire of the prison camps, had been buried under the ruins of destroyed homes, left behind in the lost homeland. During these days and weeks I saw no one who wasn't profoundly moved and shaken by this excess of suffering and misery more terrible than anyone could ever have imagined. To anyone who had a chance to take a look at the innumerable petitions in which all those who, for reasons of health or lack of funds, didn't have the opportunity to take the trip to Groening poured out their hearts, it was clear that the people who waited there shoulder to shoulder for many days for their last hope were only the representatives of an endless mass of the sick, twisted and desperate

The army of the wretched

The army of the wretched

The healings

It was a true 'army of the wretched' that pushed toward Bruno Groening here - thousands of people whom no one could help any more, who knew no way out of their distress, their misery. And then something happened that actually couldn't or shouldn't have happened. Bruno Groening spoke of God and God acted. Countless healings took place. When Bruno Groening stepped onto the balcony at the 'Traberhof' and spoke to the sick, there were scenes among the thousands of seekers of healing that can't be explained. "The sick sat up on their stretchers, the lame threw their crutches away and were able to walk, a blind child could see. Calls of gratitude announced more and more new healings, of which only a part were outwardly visible. Two months later and for a long time thereafter healings that happened or began during these days would go on occurring. From the terrace of the 'Traberhof' one of our best doctors was an eyewitness to these happenings. Deeply shaken, he would take with him for a lifetime as a result of this hour the belief that man is nothing without God's grace and that no knowledge and no ability can bring about healing in a person unless he humbles himself before this grace".

Everywhere the same scene

Wherever Groening appeared in 1949, dozens, hundreds, thousands of people streamed together within a short time. The name Groening electrified the masses and set them in motion. A journalist wrote about a Groening visit in Munich in September, 1949, "At 7:00 p.m. thousands were standing in the Sonnenstrasse. At 10:30 p.m. they were still standing there. During five years of war I experienced a lot, but I was never more shaken than in the four hours I sat opposite Bruno Groening and witnessed the horrible parade of misery and suffering. Epileptics, the blind and the lame on crutches pushed toward him. Mothers held their paralysed children up to him. There were unconscious people, screams were heard, pleading calls for help, requests, wishes, groans". The sick on stretchers, the paralysed, blind, dumb - everywhere the same picture. Bruno Groening was no pop star who attracted fans to himself. To him came the poorest of the poor, the sick, the abandoned, the hopeless, people who had no more chances, whom no one could help any more. He took up their cause and enlightened them, told them that God is the greatest Physician, that God can help when man no longer can. And the miraculous happened. The sick took hope, took on belief, the power of belief - and became well. The sick stood up from their stretchers, the lame could walk again, the blind see and the dumb speak again.

The lame walk. ...

The lame walk. ...

An eye-witness reports

A woman at the "Traberhof" back then reports what she had experienced. "There were at least 10,000 to 20,000 people on the stud farm, but Groening was not to be seen. So we waited for hours. The crowd of people wasn't hysterical. The people there had faith and hoped to get well. It was deeply moving to see the people lying on boards or walking with crutches. The crippled, paralysed, those disabled in the war. You could hardly look at them. And all of them had the desire, 'I want to get well!' Then Groening came, went onto the balcony and spoke with a microphone to the people. He said we should pay attention to our body to see whether we felt a tingling or flowing, because that meant healing. Then I felt an electric current, a vibrating or a tingling in my entire body. Only then did I notice how other people were fluttering (trembling and shaking) over their whole bodies. It was entirely automatic, as if all one's limbs were flying away. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. Then some would scream, 'I don't need my cane any more!' 'I can see again!' etc. Then I went through the crowd of people, which was very, very difficult because they were all standing shoulder to shoulder, but I wanted to see what was happening and who was screaming. Suddenly Red Cross workers carried up a man lying on crude boards and who was paralysed. He then lifted his lands, and with the help of the Red Cross workers the man sat slowly up. He was sweating heavily. When I asked him he said he had been disabled in the war. Then he stood up. Then I saw a man crying. He had built a little wagon out of crude boards for his eight-year-old grandson. The boy couldn't walk and so he had been travelling all day long with his grandson. I asked the man why he was crying and he said to me that his grandson could now walk and he was afraid to go home, because when his daughter saw that she might have a heart attack. Then I saw a chic young Gypsy woman fall to her knees and also spoke to her. She told me she had always had such cramped hands, but that she could now open them up. She kept giving thanks over and over. I saw many who had been healed. A man jumped over the fence and I said to him, 'Hey, you're in the wrong place,' whereupon he answered that five days before he had still gone around on crutches. He showed me his disabled veteran's ID which confirmed that he had been 100% paralysed."

Sensationalism and profiteers

Different from in Herford, the authorities in Bavaria held back. The Prime Minister even spoke positively about Bruno Groening and said that one shouldn't allow such an unusual figure as Bruno Groening to fail because of red tape. But the activity at the "Traberhof" had its drawbacks The more the people gathered, the more unpleasant the conditions became. The newspapers printed big extra editions and-greedy for profit and the sensational - reported ever more dramatically. Many profiteers, too, came to the "Traberhof". They tried everything to make money from the distress of those waiting. Some sold photos of Bruno Groening, others seating arrangements for the exhausted or food and drink for the hungry. Still others maintained that they knew Bruno Groening or one of his associates and could bring them to him - naturally for money. Finally the conditions became intolerable. Bruno Groening had actually come to the "Traberhof" to get away from the fuss being made about him, but now everything was much worse then ever before. Although wonderful things were happening at the "Traberhof" and mass healings of previously unseen magnitude, the side-effects were assuming ever more alarming forms. Bruno Groening had to retreat from the "Traberhof".

From the frying pan into the fire

It had already been his main goal in Herford to establish healing centres - places where he would be able to work in an orderly fashion and the help-seekers could receive their healing undisturbed. Just as in Heidelberg, doctors would conduct preliminary and follow-up examinations, verify the healings and document the results. Bruno Groening received many offers for the establishment of such healing centres. People came to him from all over who offered their help or wanted to put houses at his disposal. In most cases, however, it turned out that they were only after a good profit. It was often restaurants, hotels or boarding houses who hoped for full houses and tills from the famous guest. Hardly anyone was thinking about Bruno Groening or the poor sick people.

The profiteer Otto Meckelburg

A very special helper that came around at this time was the businessman Otto Meckelburg. He presented specific plans to Bruno Groening for the establishment of healing centres, and at the end of December, 1949 they drove together to Wangerooge. There, as well as on the neighbouring islands and the mainland, Meckelburg organized many lectures for Bruno Groening. Groening spoke and once again countless healings occurred. It was quickly obvious, however, that Meckelburg wasn't interested in Bruno Groening and his goals. Nor was he concerned with the sick people, who still converged on Bruno Groening. Meckelburg saw in the "miracle healer" only a source of money and called him derisively "the best horse in the stable". He had bound Bruno Groening to a contract, and Groening had to do what he wanted. Meckelburg earned a lot of money during this period, but he didn't build the promised healing centres. In a later lawsuit he said, "I personally had no interest in the healing centres". When in June, 1950, Bruno Groening finally succeeded in separating himself from Meckelburg, his reputation had been ruined by his manager's practices. Meckelburg, however, swore revenge, saying, "I'll cut that Groening down to size. I'll break every bone in his body".

Enormous sums taken in

After the Meckelburg period Bruno Groening worked for a few months with the Munich healing practitioner Eugen Enderlin. Enderlin had been healed at the "Traberhof" and offered to allow Bruno Groening to hold lectures on his premises. Enderlin, too, turned out to be a profiteer. He, too, wanted to make as much money as possible from Groening. Enderlin had promised to draw up a document that would prove that Bruno Groening's work had nothing to do with the legally-protected activity of a healing practitioner and that Groening therefore didn't come into conflict with the law and that a prohibition to heal was unjustified. This was supposed to pave the way for Bruno Groening to work freely. He himself once wrote about this matter, "Mr. Enderlin didn't keep his promise. On the other hand, he pocketed enormous sums of money of which I didn't receive a penny. With the money from these proceeds he was later able to buy a villa in Feldafing and furnish it anew.

Swindlers tolerated

People kept coming to Bruno Groening who promised to help with the expansion of his work. However, many of them were only interested in making as much money as possible through him. So it was, for example, with his earlier host, the Herford engineer Hülsmann. He, too, had become an enthusiastic businessman as time went on. Bruno Groening seemed to be a regular magnet for such profiteers. They kept forcing themselves on him. Again and again they damaged his reputation. Why did Bruno Groening let such "helpers" get close to him? Why was he always taken in by them? Why didn't he just keep them at arm's length? In a lecture in Munich on August 31, 1950, he told why. "What people up to now haven't neglected is to make money with this little man and his knowledge and ability. They thought they had found a gold mine. Some had the possibility to earn money, but had no advantage, thank God! There had to be these people, too, in order to determine who man is, that he stops at nothing and doesn't ask afterward whether the sick are helped or not. There are people who will stop at nothing and are able to easily look unmoved at a sick person lying there. These people would never ask about them, but would try everything to be close to me. I know that here and there people ask, 'Well, if a man knows so much, why didn't he know that? Maybe he doesn't know anything.' Whether I know anything - and how much - you will gradually come to know. But that had to be. That material was lacking in the establishment, in order to clear the way for all of you.' Thus, Bruno Groening had needed such people in order to clear the path to God again. He wanted to - had to - uncover this kind of unscrupulous bloodsucker and had to expose them so that people could recognize their malicious activity. He had to unmask these heartless scoundrels once and for all. In the past these profiteers had always deceived their fellow man and concealed their selfish intentions with nice words. There were always the nice words, "We only want to help," followed by the malicious act. They took advantage of people in distress and stopped at nothing for personal gain. Bruno Groening put an end to that. He had allowed these people to get close to him and then exposed their evil deeds.

New paths

Journalist Dr. Kurt Trampler had come to the "Traberhof" in 1949 as a reporter and had to his complete astonishment received a major healing. Out of gratitude he wrote the book, "The Great Turn-around" and also supported Bruno Groening in other ways. He took him into his home and in 1950-51 organized lectures for him in the Weikersheim guest house in Gräfeling near Munich.

The “Traberhof” was known the world over: tens of thousands flocked here to Bruno Groening.

Many healings continue to occur

Just as with Enderlin, the lectures in Gräfelfing were well attended. Many healings occurred. Anni, Baroness Ebner von Eschenbach, later a good friend of Bruno Groening, attended many of these lectures and wrote of what she had experienced there. Here is an excerpt: "While he spoke things started happening all over the room. People threw away their crutches and went up to Groening, their faces beaming with happiness and calling out, 'I can walk again without my cane and without pain!' And then they would immediately run out of the room and often up and down the stairs. They first had to break in their stiffened legs again. Many a man or woman wanted to present their crutches to Groening, but he would say, "Then I'd have to bring a furniture van along!' Groening would often break walking sticks as thick as a fist in two as if they were matchsticks". (the)
