The Beginning of a New Era

The 2007/2008 Schooling Week in Geseke

A main event in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends is the annual schooling week, which is held from December 27 to January 1 in Geseke. Friends from all over the world come together to get an insight into the varied tasks of this international organization. Schoolings, such as those dealing with the processing of success reports, are held to lay the foundation for all the communities worldwide, as Bruno Groening originally intended.

More numerous than ever

Grete Häusler, the founder and leader of the Circle of Friends for many years, often spoke of the time immediately after Bruno Groening's death in 1959, when hardly anyone believed in the continuance of his work and his activity appeared to have come to an end. But she retained her belief. Twenty years later she once again began to establish his work as he had intended and brought the teaching of Bruno Groening through untiring effort to all the continents of the world. After her death on September 6, 2007, her son Dieter Häusler took over as leader of the work.

The Conference Participants Greet the New Year

It was very clear during this schooling week - the first under the new leadership - that the friends stand behind this work and want to continue it so that everyone can learn of this teaching in accordance with Bruno Groening's wishes. The hall was filled to the last seat.

Focussing on the Teaching and the Teacher

For Dieter Häusler, the new leader, this experience was repeated in later gatherings and conferences, a sign that people are following Bruno Groening and his teaching. Hadn't Bruno Groening, who called himself "a little servant of God" always said, "Be dependent on God, not on man"?

More friends had access to the schooling week over the Internet this year. Several high points of the conference were sent directly from Geseke all over the world. There were simultaneous translations into numerous languages for non-German speakers both in the hall and online, an impressive sign of how international the Circle of Friends has become.

Stay the Course

Dieter Häusler, who led the schooling week along with his wife Birgit, said in his endearing and humorous way that for him, just as for all other helpers, the main thing was to stay the course in order to spread the teaching. One could perceive his determination to really make the teaching of Bruno Groening available to everyone on earth. He also told of his first conference abroad as leader of the Circle of Friends, which took him to Ireland last autumn. The Irish friends reported on the stage of their experiences and healings, and the audience was visibly moved. It was also astonishing that so many Irish friends had come to participate in the schooling week.

 An Impressive Picture

EA main emphasis of every conference is the reporting of healings that have taken place through absorption of the Heilstrom*. The reports often concern healings from addictive disorders, and not only the liberation from the "classic drugs".

Everyone in the hall who had experienced a healing in the area of addiction was asked to give a brief report. The audience were astounded to see so many people fill the stage. They all told of one or even more healings from addiction. In each case, liberation from the ailment had occurred through following the teaching of Bruno Groening and absorption of the Heilstrom*.

Here is a selection of the most commonly mentioned addictive disorders from which these friends had suffered: drug dependency, alcohol abuse, nicotine addiction, addictions to medication, chocolate, computer games and television, and "scratching" (compulsive self-mutilation, especially widespread among youth). Most of the people had endured ailments lasting many years that often had a severely negative effect on their lives, and many had been spontaneously freed from their suffering. The MWF psychologists were unable to explain these healings in terms of traditional psychology, and they, too, were greatly impressed by the obvious and undeniable facts cited.

The Compulsion to Count

Especially impressive was the comprehensive report at a lecture in Vienna by a young woman from Austria who had been freed from a tormenting compulsion neurosis. Since childhood she had been subject to a compulsion to have to count everything in her daily life. It even got to the point where she could no longer read a book because she had to count all the letters and lines - and she wasn't able to tell anyone about her ailment. She continued to develop more and more compulsive behaviour over a period of over 20 years of martyrdom, until she learned through a leaflet of this lecture on spiritual healing. There she had a spontaneous healing and can still hardly believe her good fortune.

Also impressed were Christoph and Anneke Hagen, who have taken on the task of approaching people with addictive disorders all over the world to make them aware of the possibility of help through Bruno Groening Circle of Friends.

France Le Blanc, A friend from Montreal who has been a filmmaker for decades, showed a film about a young Canadian woman who had been healed from migraine headaches. This was the first time that a film contribution from North America was shown in Geseke, where up until then only German-speaking films had been shown.

An Annual High Point

Most people are aware that listening to certain music can be very edifying. It plays an important role in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, and many friends report that listening to good classical music with its positive vibrations can facilitate the absorption of the Heilstrom*.

The whole week was enriched by listening to or participating in playing music or singing, and there were many musical interludes between reports, some composed by friends themselves. The friends present regarded the direct experience of this powerful music as a special gift, to the extent that many a friend was moved to tears.

Choral pieces were rehearsed by all those present for New Year's Eve - a real challenge with such a large number of people. Burkhard Pesch, who has composed many pieces of music for the Circle of Friends, directed this "random chorus" of so many people in an impressive manner. The rehearsals as well as the performance itself were marked by an unusual mixture of humour, effortlessness, seriousness and mutual love.

The significance of singing for natural childhood development

Singing brings people together. Singing not only causes the vocal chords to vibrate, but also causes the soul to vibrate. The need to express one's feelings through singing must be deeply rooted in human nature, for throughout recorded history man in all cultures and times has sung according to his particular mentality. However, in Germany today the uninhibited singing of old folksongs passed down from generation to generation is no longer popular.

A Recording instead of the Original

The rapid development of the media and commercialization of music has contributed to a considerable extent to the impoverishment of our soul in this sphere. Isn't it amazing that the majority of children are no longer able to strike the right tone, although they are confronted with music to an unprecedented extent?

Children have CD- und MP3-Players at an early age. One is surrounded by music in almost every shop and in homes radio and television often serve as mood-makers. Used to such emotionally charged music, children are bound to regard ordinary singing as too boring. Thus, even in kindergarten and certainly in the schools, they turn to playback music for help.
These influences do not appear to contribute to one's singing ability, and it is precisely during childhood that the sensitive matter of voice development takes place.

And so it was that two decades ago young people didn't learn the value of singing until they came to the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Grete Häusler, then the leader, invited them to come once a week for group singing.

With love and tact, she knew how to make the content of the old songs so accessible to young people that it often touched their hearts and helped them get rid of the everyday burdens they carried around with them. Many felt a bond of friendship develop through the singing.

Singing Brings People Together

At these big conferences it is always overwhelming to perceive what is in the room when such a large number of like-minded people launch into a spiritual song and sing with all their hearts. Many people are unable to find the words to express what they feel.

That is the experience of the adults, and they also want to make available to the children this spirit set free by music, bringing heartfelt harmony and peace and facilitating friendship

Thus communal singing has become a regular part of the community hours, field trips and all other events of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. It is apparent that the children are becoming ever more sensitive to the positive content of the songs that are sung. You can see it in the children's shining eyes, despite their varying backgrounds.

Singing Fosters the Goodness in People

In this way young and old find their way back to their natural roots together and new children's songs have been created that, together with the traditional treasures, will accompany the little ones into a new age.

Even a well known celebrity said, "Let us assure that music is made and sung in our homes and schools so that those growing up can learn to enjoy it. The time has come for this language which goes directly to the soul."

Traditional children's songs have proven to be an ideal means for the positive development of children's social communication and behaviour.

A mother of eight children says of her childhood: I learned only later that to be born into a music-loving family is a stroke of good fortune that rarely occurs. My mother sang with us children, and my grandmother accompanied us on the lute when she practiced the old folksongs with us for the next "clan meeting". We sang together at all parties of this kind. I experienced a community feeling and felt secure and good". Today she is passing this on to her own children. (inp)

2008 Success Report Conference

More people than ever before journeyed to the Westphalian town of Eringerfeld in the third week of January for this year's success report conference. The written recording of healings as success reports was a main concern for Bruno Groening. One often heard him say, "I don't want any money, bur rather a document as proof. "Today, too, the healings and help which people experience through the absorption of the Heilstrom* are recorded in this way. To this end almost every community in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends has a success report leader, trained by MWF doctors to prepare reports on healings together with the healed persons themselves.

Success report work is a main concern of the doctors of the Medical Scientific Group (MWF). Together with a large number of success report leaders and other helpers in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, they assure that reports of help and healing are carefully recorded, medically verified and, where applicable, documented.

I Have Witnessed Miracles

"I have witnessed miracles here in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. People tormented by pain for years or living in virtually hopeless personal situations simply become well and healthy. To be able to record these events together with the healed persons is very gratifying. Tears often come to my eyes because I can't comprehend how such wonderful things can take place in today's world," says Claudia Hammann, 39, a trained nurse. She is one of hundreds of success report leaders who record help and healings along with the healed persons on evenings and weekends.

A Comprehensive Documentation

And the reports have a good professional quality. In them, the diagnosis, therapy, course of the illness, and above all the personal condition of the healed person before introduction to the teaching of Bruno Groening are precisely described. Reports of witnesses, too, given in lieu of oath are also part of the success report. If the healed person has medical records, copies are made immediately after the recording of the report. In the final report the recording of the healing is just as important as the course of illness and all the medical facts up to the time of introduction to the teaching of Bruno Groening.

Claudia Hammann: "We ask the healed people what they experienced after their introduction to the teaching of Bruno Groening. It is especially important for us to determine how the healing came about. The Regelungen* have to be precisely described and of course everything that the healed person can now do again." The facts are also important in the section covering healing. People who previously had hardly been able to move because of pain now describe everything they can do again."

Claudia Hammann: "During the recording of a report, the healed person would once again become aware of the wonderful thing that had happened to them and then it wasn't only my eyes that would be filled with tears, but theirs as well".

The completed document is checked for grammar and spelling, prepared for the electronic archive and then a summarized version is finally written.

Processed for the Public

"We need a summary of every report for the public relations work. There are also more than 200 summarized success reports on the Internet. We want to take advantage of every opportunity to make seekers of healing aware that there is a solution to pain and misery," says Roland Seidel, who leads the work circle handling the summaries. He continues, "In this regard we consider it very important to retain the speaking style of the A healed person. Something of what the person experienced has to come across."

People who think there is no end to years or even decades of pain are thus provided with more than just a glimmer of hope.

Helping People in Need

The purpose of this worldwide work is to reduce human misery. None of the many helpers are after academic honours, and that includes the growing number of doctors who dedicate their free time to verifying the reports medically...

"I have never encountered at any medical conference what I have experienced here in the success report work. Before, I felt so inadequate and empty in the face of patients beyond medical help. As a result of my work on the healing reports I now know that there is more and that every illness is curable," says Dr. Horst H., 55, a general practitioner. The experienced physician has been helping with success report work for years and gladly gives his advice and support to the lay helpers who record the reports with the healed persons.

He goes on, "We meet every six weeks, when the success report leaders present to me their recorded reports. It is my job to medically verify everything, give a commentary and, when possible, introduce the documentation." In the case of healings from complex chronic illnesses from other specialized areas, Medical Scientific Group specialists are available or specialist advice can be sought from colleagues at university clinics.

Participants from all over Europe

Attending the conference, which began on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and ended at 1: p.m. on Sunday, were success report leaders and doctors from all over Europe, including representatives from the German-speaking lands of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as from Finland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland. All the proceedings were simultaneously translated, and the guests from abroad were provided with headphones, thus enabling everyone to participate directly.

These Friends Help in the English Speaking World

Impressed by the healings which had taken place in the communities in Naples, Italy, his home city, Dr. Antonio S., 53, a general practitioner, was moved to attend the conference. "This conference is not only training for my medical tasks with the success report work in Italy; it is also an extraordinarily valuable specialist and personal schooling. I feel enriched both as a human being and as a physician through what I am hearing. A whole new world with undreamt-of possibilities for healing has been opened up to me through the teaching of Bruno Groening. To be able to experience this so intimately is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me as a doctor."

At the end of the conference he, too, was able to report a healing. A colic-like abdominal pain caused by a severe inflammation of the stomach lining, from which he had already suffered for several weeks before the conference, completely disappeared on the first day of the gathering in Eringerfeld. The stomach hyperacidity had been so severe that he had experienced vomiting and bowel movements at night. He had taken six to eight tablets daily. In addition, also on the first evening, he was freed from severe pain of the left shoulder, which had hampered movement of his arm, as well as from intense back pain. Not until Sunday afternoon did he notice that he had taken no more pills since Friday evening and that all the above-mentioned ailments had disappeared

The Variety of Help and Healing

The great variety of spiritual help and healing that occurs through the teaching of Bruno Groening was revealed in the reports: veterinarians told of special animal healings, while master gardeners stood on the stage still astonished by inexplicable plant healings.

All kinds of specialists are brought in to provide advice to the success report leaders, whether veterinarians, psychologists, master gardeners, plant agronomists, teachers, lawyers, accountants or financial experts - even physicists, engineers and master craftsmen.
It would go beyond the scope of this article to thoroughly describe the great variety of help and healing occurring in all aspects of everyday life

Whatever the nature of the reports, a central thread exhibits itself in the form of orderly and clearly structured work, simplicity of implementation and high professional quality in recording and verification.

Once a year a small part of the results of this unique work is summarized in a compilation of representative success reports that is translated into more than 20 languages and sent out all over the world. Every Bruno Groening friend receives this publication free of charge. A definite testimony to the effectiveness of the teaching of Bruno Groening, the reports give inner support and the power to believe, and provide examples of how to overcome all demands that life makes on mankind. Healing from Bronchial Asthma

Success Report of Lily Agbetsiafa, 58, Accra Community, Ghana

My suffering began when I was about 23 years old. The doctor diagnosed chronic asthma. I was accompanied by this for over 30 years. As time went on the attacks got worse and worse. They continued to occur, sometimes two or three times a day, and were sometimes very severe. It was very difficult for me to breathe or to get any air at all. I never had more than a week free from these attacks. My husband often took me to the hospital and, especially at night, my condition would often become so critical that I thought I would suffocate.

The Spray always at Hand

The inhaler spray was my regular companion; during the day it was in my pocket, at night ready for use under my pillow. Next to the tablets I had to take, it was an indispensable help during these attacks. I also tried out our traditional herbal medicine, but this provided little or no help. During all these years I worked in an office. The doctors diagnosed both allergic and non-allergic bronchial asthma. For example, I reacted to strong perfume, dust, and kitchen odors. Even cold drinks could trigger an attack.

Convinced it Was Incurable

None of the many doctors and none of the numerous therapies that were tried out - nothing was able to help me for long. Our family doctor, an in-patient physician at the city's teaching hospital, was available to me around the clock. Since in my homeland of Ghana and in my family, as well, asthma is regarded as an incurable disease, I just accepted it; moreover, my father and both of my older sisters had suffered from it until their deaths.

All of a sudden it was over with

In June, 2002, my husband brought me the introductory book to the teaching of Bruno Groening, told me about all the "miracles" that this teaching had brought about in the lives of many people and said that I, too, could become well. Thus in July of 2002 I was introduced into the Accra Community, followed the teaching with much enthusiasm and did einstellen* regularly with my husband. I was convinced that I, too, would someday be healed. Reading the success reports encouraged me greatly. After a final massive attack on December 12, 2004, I perceived the next morning, December 13, that I was free. Since then I have never again had an attack and require neither medication nor inhaler sprays. I can now do everything, such as climbing steep stairs, staying in the kitchen with its typical odors, tolerate strong perfumes, etc.

Father Humbert meets Bruno Groening - Part 1

Father Humbert was ordained as a priest in 1951. His first parish was in Löhne, where Bruno Groening's family had settled after the war. He got to know the family right away. Bruno's father was involved in the men's work, while his mother coordinated the women's community and looked after Father Humbert's household. Others helped take care of the youth. One day Bruno Groening's brother told Father Humbert that he would like to bring his brother along. "Maybe you have heard of him," he said, "He gives lectures and talks about healing".

 Father Humbert later said, "That was how we met and became friends. We were very close friends. Bruno Groening came to my home".

Healing from Rheumatoid Arthritis

For Bruno Groening mission was to carry the divine life within himself and pass it on. He spoke so naturally - no theories or contradictions. I enjoyed our conversations back then very much.

After the war, I had rheumatism of the knees and feet. On a visit Bruno Groening gave me a tinfoil ball, saying, "take this and you'll soon notice that it's getting better. Then think of me and you'll notice that it helps you with your life. If you hold the ball often in your hand when you have any kind of problem, you'll find that inspiration will come." I honestly accepted that and firmly believed it. God has to have an effect and I have to proceed farther and farther on the path of faith.

A Very Natural Person

Bruno Groening is completely filled with this inner power, but not one in the sense of "I can do it", but rather of "it is God's doing". One can truly say that he is a chosen instrument. Bruno Groening always wanted to stay in the background, totally modest and humble. But at the same time he was so cheerful and spoke in such an uncomplicated, human way. We were simply human beings, just as we are. A person who only wants something for himself, an egoist, can't really be a believer. That is what Bruno Groening wanted - to give love and pass love on. Completely human, unconditional love. I have to accept everyone, have to confront all people with respect, have to regard every person as the image of God. Belief alone is capable of taking away man's sorrow, illness, misery and everyday worries. Belief in God! Belief in goodness. That is what Bruno Groening always emphasized.

When a person speaks to people as a priest, he receives hardly any response; thus, he assumes what he said was good. Bruno Groening gave a response. He said, "That was good," or "You should express it this way, then people will accept it better." He said that we had to have strong faith and had to grow in our faith. It is a daily battle which one begins anew with each day.

You felt at home with him right away.

A person can't say, "I am now on this level and have already come this far". We humans keep falling down. Evil is always a power, but it can be conquered through goodness. It strengthened me when he said to me, "Continue to go down your path, just as you did in the beginning." And he strengthened me through his faith and through his answers. He could just as well have been a fellow priest - and highly educated. He knew history and the history of the world. He had such a comprehensive knowledge, really a deep knowledge, I must say. Bruno Groening was thus "at home" in all disciplines, and he could give you an answer. I must say that the atmosphere was so completely human and friendly - informal - that one always felt immediately at home, simply good. He himself was calm - there was never any rush at all - completely calm and relaxed. Bruno Groening lived entirely from the energy and shone in such a way as to project the divine."
