A doctor reports his experiencesMatthias Kamp, M.D."I believe that a non-materialistic healing through spiritual methods, has undreamed-of possibilities. And I believe that its range will eventually exceed what we today, rightly or wrongly, call functional and also encompass everything organic. I see the dawn of a new age before me when man will consider certain surgical operations, for instance on internal growths, as mere patchwork and be absolutely horrified that the knowledge of healing was once so limited. Then there will barely be room for the time-honoured pharmaceutical products. Far be it from me to demean modern medicine and surgery; on the contrary, I hold both in great awe. But I have been allowed to see the colossal energies inherent in a person as well as those in extraneous sources which, under certain circumstances, flow through the former and which I can only describe as Divine. Energies which cannot only heal functional but also organic disorders which manifested as symptoms of emotional and mental disturbances." Professor Doctor Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) IntroductionWith luck, lectures on the history of medicine may make mention of vis vitalis which is life force or vital energy. For contemporary medicine it has become a relic of past eras, an idea last mooted by doctors of the 19th centurys Romantic Age. That this life force exists has been handed down through all the advanced civilisations of former times and it has been referred to in the books of the worlds religions, but it no longer features in the teachings or study material of todays prospective doctors. They, whose profession it will be to save and preserve life, so glowingly described in the Hippocratic Oath, no longer have access to this life force and no longer know its laws. "True science and true religion are one", a great philosopher once said, but priestliness is no longer an attribute of todays physician. His concern is the body. It is the priests task to heal the soul. But man cannot be divided into body or soul. The two are innately interwoven. The importance of the emotional and mental attitude of people in relation to their physical condition is becoming more apparent through psychosomatics and the knowledge acquired from a new sub-discipline, psychoneuroimmunology. Nevertheless, many doctors ignore these fundamental correlations. They overwhelm their patients with diagnoses and sinister prophecies about the course of illnesses. They reduce the concept of being human to a physical machine which can be repaired. This development towards a godless, materialistic medical system whose representatives seldom have regard for their patients Higher Self - that power which is the actual source of healing - has had catastrophic results. Despite the continuous growth of the German health service expenditure, which in 1992 exceeded the 300 billion mark level, the statistics of the health insurance companies are sobering. In recent years the steadily increasing number of sick people in every branch of medicine is impressive documentary evidence of the impasse the service has worked its way into over these past decades. It is a development that has distanced itself immensely from life and its laws. Against this background, the growing interest of the general public in unconventional methods of healing is all too understandable. Orthodox medicines inflexible attitude to following the valuable path beyond its self-erected barriers impartially has resulted in a grey zone beyond whatever is scientifically acceptable. In this area many a charlatan or so-called healing sect with ambiguous goals has been able to pursue its dubious activities. Every sick person who has suffered pain for years, or has been told by his doctor that his ailment is incurable, tends to lose his critical ability and readily places implicit faith in the first person who offers to heal him, even though the method is somewhat mysterious. The emotional and physical ruin of a sick person duped in this manner is often generalised by the media, and through the deterrent behaviour of black sheep the entire healing scene is discredited. Through the detailed portrayal of a frightening individual case, some press reports even manage to defame the phenomenon of spiritual healing by labelling it medieval superstition practised by naive and starry-eyed outsiders. On the other hand, so-called miracle healings are publicised in a light-veined, spectacular manner without dispassionate detachment. Neither of these strategies serves the interest of a sick person. Only an unprejudiced, impartial examination according to the recognised process of a standard medical diagnosis is able to judge the reality of spiritual healing. Now, what is spiritual healing? What are the prospects of receiving healing in this way? What are its limitations? How does one distinguish between what is genuine and what is deceptive? Can healings be medically verified? In these healings is it possible to determine a regular pattern that conforms to an as yet unknown energy, or do they occur by chance? Personal impressionsAs a student my interest in spiritual matters as well as personal problems led me to the study of Eastern and Western spiritual teachings. Amongst others I came across the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. Bruno Groening (1906-59) was well-known in Germany in the nineteen-fifties as a result of his remarkable healings. In the young Federal Republic he made the first attempt to initiate a change in the public health service through spiritual healing. His work was the beginning of a movement which still today offers ever-increasing numbers of people access to healing in this way. At that time the name Groening was unknown to me but my interest in the Circle of Friends led to my attending a community hour. I did not feel the "divine power" or "healing stream" as Groening called the spiritual healing energy. It remained a theoretical grey area for me. Nevertheless I did not allow my apparent lack of sensibility to experience this energy to deter me, but in accordance with Groenings teachings "tuned in" regularly to the healing stream at home; in other words I opened myself to it. Apart from a soothing, subjective effect I felt nothing those first weeks. Then, at first lightly but progressively more and more strongly, I felt a pleasant, tingling and pulsating sensation, at first only in my hands and feet, later in my whole body. Groenings designation for this feeling, "healing stream" was very apt. It really could be compared to a fine electric current, except that the impression was very much pleasanter. But of course a tingling sensation and waves of heat and cold are by no means a certain indication that a Higher Power is at work. These feelings also occur in relaxation techniques, for instance in autogenic training and even in the case of psycho-vegetative disturbances. Every experienced medical colleague will immediately associate the feelings I have described with the latter, and healings which result from such an experience will merely be considered the elimination of somatic, psychic and hysterical disturbances. As overpowering as such phenomena are for the person concerned, they also occur in the practices of experienced psychotherapists and physicians with empathy. However, soon the impressive healings which occurred in the Bruno Groening-Circle of Friends convinced me from a medical point of view that something hitherto really unknown to me - a particular energy - had to be at work to allow what was happening to occur. Bruno Groening - an unusual personIf spiritual healing often still engenders great mistrust and a lack of understanding in the nineties, one can imagine the difficulties Bruno Groening had to contend with. Born in Danzig in 1906, a particular power emanated from him already as a child and brought about many healings. This unusual aspect continued to be markedly noticeable in later years when he worked as a carpenter. His colleagues were amazed by his unselfishness and unusual abilities, and the healings continued. When he was conscripted into the army in the war years, his statement that he would never be able to kill anybody nearly cost him his life at a court martial. He was taken prisoner in Russia and still today his name is well-known there as the man named Bruno, who effected astonishing healings not only among the German prisoners but also the Russian guards. In 1949 he came to Herford in Westfalia at the invitation of a couple called Hlsmann, whose nine-year-old son, Dieter, was bedridden with a severe case of muscular dystrophy (a hereditary disease marked by progressive muscular wastage). Groening came to stay with the Hlsmann family and soon Dieter was walking again. Deeply moved by this experience, the father publicised the healing and as the news spread, up to 5000 people converged on Wilhelmsplatz and stood in front of house no. 7 asking for healing. Similar scenes occurred in August 1949 at Rosenheim near Munich, but this time there were up to 30,000 people. Many healings occurred, the blind could see again and the lame left their wheelchairs and walked. Here are some of the healings recorded by doctors working with Bruno Groening and who were present in the crowds: 1
Nevertheless the local medical bureaucracy continued to maintain the ban on his healing as Bruno Groening was not officially authorised to heal. This ban was enforced until the end of his life. In a scientific examination of his work at the University Clinic of Heidelberg under the auspices of the well-known neurologist, Professor Weizsäcker, the healings were confirmed. In full view of the scientists, medically incurable illnesses disappeared without explanation. However, there was no co-operation forthcoming. Groening constantly tried to find ways to help people despite all the external resistance which, for the most part, was generated by jealousy and lack of understanding. Eventually, in the mid nineteen-fifties, communities were founded in various centres where those seeking healing came together and invited Groening to address them. But he was not left in peace. In every possible way attempts were made to stop him working, as for example the legal proceedings instigated because he lacked official permission to heal. Judgement was never pronounced. On January 26, 1959 Groening died in Paris after years of battling for the recognition of spiritual healing. The Bruno Groening Circle of FriendsIn 1950 Grete Häusler (1922 - 2007) attended a talk given by Bruno Groening in Munich. She experienced a spontaneous recovery from recurrent hypoglycaemia severe damage of the liver after the onset of jaundice and chronic frontal sinusitis. Subsequently she noticed that sick people, to whom she only spoke about Bruno Groening and her recovery, were also healed. She continued to feel the healing stream even after Groenings death. When her maid, who was blind in her left eye due to an embolism recovered her sight after absorbing the healing energy, it was clear to Mrs. Häusler that the cures were continuing. She considered it her duty to spread her knowledge about the efficacy of the healing stream and in the following years she built up hundreds of communities around the world. The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends which she founded has, in the meantime, grown into one of the largest global associations for spiritual healing. There are communities in practically every Western European country, the states of the former Soviet Union as far as Siberia, the United States and Canada, Africa, Australia, India and Japan. In accordance with the example established by Bruno Groening, all the work is financed through contributions and helpers work on a voluntary basis out of gratitude for help and healing received. In an exemplary manner the individuals freedom is safeguarded because he is not bound to regulations, nor are there obligations or religious qualifications. There are no healers and no therapies. Those seeking to regain their health can do so without cost on their own by attuning themselves to the healing energy. Moreover, the intake of this spiritual energy does not interfere with medical therapy. Spiritual healing provable by medical technologyI well remember the first recovery that I was confronted with. Hans R. (70) suffered from heart pains for years. These pains spread to his left side, sometimes even extending into his arm, particularly when he overextended himself. He always had a nitroglycerine lingual aerosol with him, a type of heart medication which he used several times a day to control the pain and obtain relief. He also needed several types of heart tablets. From a medical point of view he had coronary heart disease, which was clearly visible on the exercise electrocardiogram. The examining doctor stated in his report: "To sum up, the complaints referred to by the patient can be traced to stenocardia (authors note: damage to the heart caused by narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart muscle) on account of coronary heart disease. The electrocardiogram deviations (changes in the ECG) are typical."2 Hans R. said: "The pains occurred when I was stressed or agitated. When the pain was more intense, it spread down my left arm. In the years before I made contact with the teachings of Bruno Groening I could not even climb half a flight of stairs without stopping for a rest because I was out of breath and the pains had started again." 3 In addition he suffered headaches for 25 years. The medical diagnosis was wear of the cervical vertebral column. When the pain became intense he sometimes took up to ten tablets of Tylenol, which gave him temporary relief. His headaches were aggravated by chronic frontal sinusitis which had plagued him for years and had to be drained at two-yearly intervals. At the beginning of the nineteen-seventies he developed back pains (medical diagnosis: chronic lumbago) Hans R. stated in his report: "They came from the sacrum (lower spine) and often spread down my right leg. I had constant pain in my back. It was worse when I moved, bent forward, carried something heavy or walked long distances. When it became particularly bad, I had to stand still, put both hands on my lower back and wait until it eased. I took many pain killers, even such strong medications like Feldene and Butazolidin. These together with mud packs, massage and short-wave therapy gave my relief for a short while but then the pain returned in full force. The doctors diagnosed wear and tear of the intervertebral discs of the lumbar spine and wear of the spinal column. As a result of my condition I was declared unfit for work 18 months before I was due to be pensioned. There was no question of a cure. Years before my orthopaedist had said You will just have to learn to live with it." 4 Additionally he suffered from a painful lung disorder caused by thoracic trauma (physical injury to the chest) accompanied by a lung rupture. This was a war injury dating from 1942. It is not surprising that Hans R. developed chronic gastritis. Over a period of ten years it caused him severe stomach pains once or twice a year, forcing him to go on diets. And a sleeping disorder, from which he had suffered since 1946 and which kept him awake at night for hours, is also understandable in the light of his case history. In general medical practice one often encounters patients of this age who suffer from a similar list of varying, incurable complaints. They are usually degenerative diseases which the patient just has to learn to live with. This is why I was so astonished to learn that after he had been introduced to the teachings of Bruno Groening, and had absorbed the healing energy, Hans R. had been cured. Finally he was rid of the heart pain he had suffered for many years and no longer needed a nitroglycerine lingual aerosol and other heart pills. Now he could manage several flights of stairs without a break, which was previously impossible. He has undertaken extensive walking tours in the Black Forest and Austria without problems. Even dancing, a heartfelt wish of his has, at his age, again become possible. The chronic frontal sinusitis and headaches also disappeared once he began to absorb the healing energy. They simply never recurred. He stated the following about the healing of his back pains: "My back is free from pain. I can work in the garden again and bend without the pain recurring. I no longer find it difficult to get out of bed or stand up from a chair. I no longer need massages, mud packs, short-wave therapy or painkilling injections." The pains in the lung have disappeared and there has been no recurrence of his stomach problems. He can eat anything and must, as he writes, take care not to put on too much weight. Now that all the pain and fear has gone, he can, once again, "sleep like a log." For me, as a future doctor who had just taken his first State examination after my third year in medical school, this recovery was incomprehensible. From a medical point of view it was manifestly impossible. I made every effort to investigate the case. I asked for the medical reports and arranged for a follow-up examination: A new exercise electrocardiogram confirmed what Hans R. himself had noticed - that he had regained his resistance to stress. When the wattage was increased to 125 there was no sign of ischaemic heart disease, according to the report of the examining physician. 5 Through this, my first confirmed case of spiritual healing of an organic illness, the significance of what was happening in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends was really brought home to me. Here something that far exceeded the influence of psychic or somatic psychic disturbances was at work. Impressed by this unusual happening I began to devote more and more time to the cures reported in the Circle and, with a colleague, listed them from a medical aspect. In the course of recording the most diverse healings from quite dissimilar illnesses - including the most serious organic cases - it became increasingly clear that the cures were not mere coincidences. On the contrary, the healing process was shown to be according to the laws of a potent energy to which Bruno Groening had already referred in his lifetime. Vital energy - the great unknown factor in modern medicineSoon after his birth Raimund S. passed light-coloured, foul-smelling stools and displayed signs of oedema. A medical examination revealed a distinctly reduced plasma protein speculum (2,6; normal 5,6-7,4 g/dl) 7. He was hospitalised and a tissue sample from his small intestine showed "intestinal lymphangiectasis" a hereditary transformation of the lymphatic bowel vessels. 8 This caused the child to lose more than 50 times the normal amount of bowel protein. Protein infusions and a special diet that would have to be maintained for life, normalised his symptoms. His mother told a friend about her childs severe illness. Without telling the mother, her friend attuned herself to the healing stream according to the teachings of Bruno Groening on behalf of the child. His impressive recovery is recorded in the routine laboratory controls which continued for 11 years until 1987 at the University Clinic in G. 10 The young man continues to be healthy and to date does not need a special diet. After a brain haemorrhage in 1976, Mrs. K. (64) was paralysed on her left side. None of the therapeutic efforts brought about a noticeable improvement. 9 With a leg brace and crutches the severely handicapped woman was, from then on, confined to her home most of the time. Increasing depressions on account of the hopelessness of her condition escalated to concrete intentions of suicide in 1989. Her recovery highlights the importance of an objective press report: on the very day she planned to do away with herself, she chanced upon an article about spiritual healing according to the teachings of Bruno Groening. Only because of this article she decided not to take her life but seek contact with the Circle of Friends. Somebody who lived near her told her a short while later how, through absorbing the healing energy, she had regained her health and from then on Mrs. K. also began to attune herself to the healing stream. There was no further therapy or medication, she just absorbed this power at home. Barely two weeks later she could lay aside her leg brace and crutches and has never needed either again. Two independent neurologists confirmed the disappearance of her severe paralysis. 12 13 In 1986 Mr S. (41) was assigned to clear up radioactivitely contaminated material at the reactor in Chernobyl. Soon afterwards he showed signs of excessive radiation contamination: pains in his arms and legs, a constantly increasing loss of energy - until he was no longer able to do even light work - and increasing concentration and memory loss to the point of the almost total disappearance of his short-term memory. He could no longer remember the names of people or streets. Nor could he recall incidents that had occurred only a short while before. He had great difficulty reading and it took him up to two weeks to grasp the meaning of what was written on a single page. Then, at regular intervals, he began to suffer blackouts. Despite a range of medical therapies and visits to alternative medical practitioners (like Kaspirowski) there was no improvement and a medical report made in 1992 stated: "Vegetative vascular dystonia. Organic damage of the cerebrum with asthenic impairments and a defective memory. Chronic gastroduodenitis. His condition is the result of clearing-up operations following the reactor accident at Chernobyl." 14 By 1993 he was bedridden; fifteen of his former work colleagues had already died. In November he learned about the teachings of Bruno Groening. Having witnessed the recovery of his wife, he attuned himself to the healing stream. From April 1994 onwards his condition began to improve and by the middle of the year his problems had vanished. Today he no longer loses consciousness and his power of concentration as well as his memory have returned. He is rid of the distressing tiredness and weakness and can work once again. When one talks to medical colleagues about the phenomenon of spiritual healing the first argument often raised is that it can well be understood through the findings of psychology. It is the transparent and obvious result of auto and extraneous suggestion and supposed healings only occur in the case of illnesses which mask psychic or psychological conditions. Recoveries from classic organic complaints are totally excluded and the existence of a healing energy disputed. However, when one considers the well-documented case histories just quoted, spiritual healing appears in quite a different light. In the first case an organic, hereditary ailment is under consideration. Neither mother nor child were aware of the spiritual intervention of a third person. Here there certainly could not have been suggestive influence. Nevertheless, as has been shown, a recovery occurred which to date - eleven years later - is still in force. To be able to explain this course of events, which is not an isolated case, one must assume that there is a power that heals and which can be transferred from person to person even when they are far apart. The second case was about cerebral damage after a cerebral haemorrhage. As is known, nerve cells do not regenerate, so what was under consideration was an irreversible injury. The retrogressive metamorphosis is all the more astonishing because the paralysis that had lasted 13 years was reversed in ten days. Within this framework, the recovery in the third case from excessive radiation contamination after exposure to the reactor at Tschernobyl is particularly impressive. The medical knowledge which we have today cannot explain these occurrences. It is to be assumed that man is more than a macroscopically and microscopically visible body and that there are higher levels to which humanity is exposed which can be influenced by a hitherto unknown power. The ancient Chinese doctors spoke of a life force (chi) which cared for mans body. This life force or vital energy flows through the body along specific channels, the so-called meridians, to the individual organs. Illness occurs - according to these Chinese doctors - when there are disturbances in the flow of this energy. Indian philosophy echoes these thoughts. The wise men of India knew that there was a primeval light (prana) which man could absorb. This they recognised as mankind's life force. Paracelsus, the prominent physician at the dawn of modern times, was of the opinion that the life force was an invisible, spiritual organising principle, the wise and significant functioning of which could be ascribed to an intelligent source (God). Bruno Groening explained that the concept people had that only eating and drinking maintained their body, was wrong. He quoted the example of somebody who was lame but had a healthy appetite and also drank sufficiently. But adequate as his nourishment was, it did not enable him to move his limbs again. "And here is the proof - for you as it has always been for me - that food and drink does not give him power in his legs, does not guide life back into them. He needs energy! And man obstructs its free flow." 15 The basic principles governing the healing energy"I am nothing, the Lord God is everything." "The greatest physician for all mankind is, and remains, our Lord God." "Trust and believe that Divine energy helps and heals." 16 These three quotations encompass the essential essence of spiritual healing. God is life. He transmits His power, vital energy, which has given everything life and continues to maintain it. Man must learn how, once again, to absorb it consciously. Man is more than a material body; he is a spirit with a soul and for this life inhabits a body with the responsibility of keeping it healthy. For a healthy life he not only needs material nourishment but also spiritual energy. Groening called this energy "divine power" or "the healing stream." It is this that helps and heals mankind. Man can only be a mediator. This is why Bruno Groening did not consider himself a healer, but only a mediator. In this way he made a clear distinction between himself and the customary form of healing. He refused to accept the mistaken definition of his way of working as being treatment of an illness and would not permit those seeking to regain their health to speak even one word about their condition. He only sought to enlighten them and encourage them to make inner contact with the healing energy once again so that their Higher Selves could absorb this superior, proffered help and experience healing. It was for this reason that he personally refused to accept any expression of appreciation: "Do not thank me but thank the God. He did it." 17 He never promised that healing would occur. He never advised the rejection of medical help. On the contrary, he appealed to people to have confidence in their doctors. He continually requested follow-up examinations. He brusquely refused payment, for healing was a gift from God which man could never demand or pay for. "Do not demand but accept with gratitude." 18 This is another basic law of spiritual healing. A devout, submissive, appealing attitude ensures the onset of healing. A demand of any kind will cut off contact with the Higher Power. A 35-year-old mother of five children contracted rheumatism with - according to the internist treating her - "severe progressive symptoms". 19 Despite anti-rheumatic therapy, articular pain and swelling, rheumatic nodules and the initial deformation of the metacarpophalangeal joints led to her becoming increasingly handicapped. Her husband and mother-in-law had to take over more and more housework. Once she had made contact with the teachings of Bruno Groening, the routine absorption of the healing energy at first increased her pains and the articular inflammation and swelling of the affected joints. Soon, however, the initial deterioration receded and the symptoms did not return. What is impressive is the follow-up period of just on six years without a relapse. From the medical point of view the interesting aspect is that the recovery is not only apparent on the patients body, but is also reflected in the clinical findings in the laboratory (CRP rheumatoid factor BSR). 20 From the age of 16 Ferdinand D. suffered constant stomach pains and gastritis with recurrent gastric and duodenal ulcers. 21 A hereditary factor was apparent because his father, two brothers and all his uncles suffered from the same complaint. One died from it, a second had two-thirds of his stomach removed and two others suffered perforation of the stomach. After 28 years of chronic pain he found his way to the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends. When he attuned himself to the healing stream he was very surprised to notice a change in the pattern of his pains. Previously they had been continuous; now they were stronger but periodic. Some time later he awoke in the morning with particularly strong pains and later the same day he became aware of a powerful tingling sensation that streamed through his body with a wonderfully pleasant feeling. He felt as though he was standing under a shower. Afterwards all his pains were gone and until today, eight years later, they have not returned. People who have been healed constantly tell me that when they take in the healing stream there is an initial change in their symptoms. Sometimes they are more intense, sometimes there is pain, sometimes there are severe reactions like vomiting, diarrhoea or fever and then, after either a short or a longer period of time comes the recovery. Bruno Groening called these reactions triggered by the healing stream "regulations". They were the external signs of an inner process of reorganisation or "re-regulation" of physical or emotional disturbances. Groening: "There must be regulation pain. When it occurs, individuals are afraid that it is an indication of a relapse. Others know how to exploit this and say: instead of making people well he is making them sick. This is why I warn you that when the regulation pain begins you must endure it. Apart from the fact that the person will recover, nothing bad will happen." 22 Contrary to the attitude of most people who are used to suppressing such physical symptoms, the onset of this type of reaction is a good sign. The person seeking healing is reacting to the inflowing energy, the "cleansing process" in his body has begun. However, regulations are not arbitrary, many a healing occurs without one. Alternatively, there is very little difference in the degree of the initial symptoms. Some healers who know nothing about Bruno Groening tell me about similar phenomena, and homeopathy is familiar with an "initial deterioration" which often precedes a recovery. From a medical point of view the phenomenon of regulations is particularly interesting, for here is a recognisable law in the process triggered by the healing energy which makes further research significant. With astonishing precision the reactions which follow the absorption of the healing stream often occur exactly in the damaged organ. Anna K. whose recovery is quoted earlier in this chapter, told me that after she had absorbed the healing stream she had a headache on the right side of her head. A short while afterwards her recovery took place. She is a non-professional and does not know that the motor nerves of the cerebrum cross over at the back of the head in what is called the decussation of the pyramids. So the damage responsible for a paralysis on the left side has to be found on the right side of the cerebral hemisphere. Grete Häusler told me about a severe headache and pains in the region of her liver and pancreas, which suddenly manifested. Anatomically these reactions exactly fitted her complaints - chronic frontal sinusitis, liver damage after hepatitis and recurring hypoglycemia. The recovery of Mr. S. in Russia was the same story. He recalls that every time he attuned himself to the healing stream he felt strong pressure on his head. After his recovery this reaction did not recur. Anatomically the healing reactions which occurred in the two recoveries mentioned above - chronic polyarthritis (rheumatism) and chronic stomach and duodenal ulcers - were also clearly felt by the two people concerned. There is no space here to go into more detail about the correlations but I think that the paramount laws are obvious and if consideration is paid to them in medicine many people will be spared prolonged suffering and an early death. To summarise the situation I would add: The acceptance of the existence of a Higher Power is cogent. This power is obviously able to set in motion the regeneration and recovery process in the body which previously seemed impossible. Whoever knows how to attune himself to this energy and is familiar with the way its laws function can help himself to achieve health in a wonderful way. Furthermore, those who devoutly ask for help can transfer this healing energy to a fellow human being as well as an animal or a plant. Its effect on people, animals and plants can be verified by objective medical technology. Its origins are concealed from scientific research and can only be perceived by feelings in the heart.
